Interesting design but I think it's way too bulky. Scale down the lazer box and the batteries some. I'm not really getting the soldier vibe from it either. Looks more like something the Sniper or Engineer might use.
Love the idea and the humour of putting such a heavy thing to produce little dot But:
1) There is nowhere to put the other hand, that holds the barrel.
2) Snipers original rifle makes laser dots without all batteries and stuff.
But as i said, love the idea of silly weapon prototipes.

Actually this one is supposed to be used in gameplay, the spotted player could take more damage or anything else so i wanted to give importance to it. The identity of this weapon is " the one with laser " thats why i used a quite simple weapon (the garand) of ww2 and not stylised it as much as the laser/power stuff. And i imagined lasers was that big in 50's : ) .
The rocket launcher is done, the burst rocket launcher isn't that original but i hadn't much ideas for it. I'll try to make some schematic view of the exact gameplay for it.
Im on holiday so i work on a old laptop and couldn't do pictures with TF2 shader, i still have to work some details and textures on weapons and the text on the presentation. I wasn't able to make " ingame " capture too so i'll try to do that when i'll be back to home .
My last item will be a sort of custom "Night Vision Google" with a crappy custom style , but i need lot of concept work for that.
the texturing could use a bit more work, maybe a darker green for the Maverick and spend a little more time on the Ariter's wood grain, but these models are kickass work Ithoual, love the sketches as well. :thumbup:

but i gotta say the Arbiter looks amazing, yet ridiculously oversized lazer box attached. i don't know - tad too much overscaled maybe
I also think night vison goggles might look too much like the Medic hat Ze Goggles.

Personally, for this pack? I would kind of be tempted, as a miscellaneous item, to have a torn away bit of face showing a metal skull and glowing red robot eye underneath (a.e. Terminator).

In one sense, this is to be expected. Soldier is one of the easiest ones to find things to do, because there's so many things one can reference especially given TF2's setting.
Right now I'm thinking scout is the hardest one to work with. He has running, baseball, energy drinks and being small. To me it seems like there's a lot less you can do with him.
You're probably better off using a gun that uses slugs to match the current animations, or keeping the laser aspect of the weapon and using the pumping animation to "charge" it. It's not looking too well with a rifle.
Man, they look awesome. Although the only way I can see the rifle going in is with lots of custom animations . I was going to do a shotgun replacement for the heavy but there's like 20+ world view animations and around 5 first person animations that would need to be done.
Ive started the hat, the polycount was really really too low for the entire stuff, helmet / scope / wires / details etc.. thats why it's very simple compared to the concept.
Too bad, 800 triangles is so hard.
I still have to work on the texture, for the power pack and fix some " readability " issues with the texture paint style. I'd like to add some typographic details, like a logo Mann co or something else but the resolution of the texture is probably gonna be a problem.
Personally I'd like to see it a bit more ramshackle, like the lens tubing being a paper towel roll or something. The Soldier isn't all there after all.

I'll have to resubmit my .obj because of smooth group issues due to the MDL exporter .
