I'd say C and lose the hanging wire, it clashes with the antique rifle look. You kept the olden look going by adding a magnifying glass with distortion instead of a scope, which was a stroke of genius - don't muddy it with the wire now. That is just my opinion.
Regarding the laser+wire again, I don't imagine the sniper would even need a laser sight, I don't think it would be any biggie for valve to remove the red dot. But I guess its all down to what one prefers aesthetics wise. If you do keep it I prefer it placed below the barrel. I'm also not a big fan of stray wiring and things like that on weapons since they might catch on things and I would expect the sniper to be more careful than that. Thats just another personal bugbear though.
I also agree with MizzyMizzy bout having two lenses, I know that TF2 isn't realistic but that single lens jars with me, maybe I'm just too nerdy.
post first person views(please) of all these choices cause that's what really matters. Deciding on one that looks slightly better from the side but (possibly) worse in first person is a bad idea.
Yes, you're very right about the viewmodels, but god damn are they a pain in the ass to make. I didn't make these for all the choices, just these three.
I'm sure I've spent too much time on these little model differences, so I think I'll be going with E.
Also I'm aware of the little things like the thumb clipping into the metal, wire clipping into the wrist, plain lens holder and so on, I'm going to do things to them.
Oh and those who wanted a second lens, where do you think it should go? While I'm sure the gun would feel more practical with another one, I feel it wouldn't look too good.
I like D, only because you can see the barrel of the gun a bit more. More rifel-ish looking. What other items did you have in mind besides this and the hat?
Looking back I kinda like how it was before with the rails raised up, it gives it a more interesting silhouette. (just combine with the shortened version and laser & wire ftw) The exaggerated rail seems more fitting with TF2.
I agree with Reklas but I also stick with my earlier assertion that imo it would look better without the wire. It would also be easier to work with clipping/jigglebone wise.

Also, how about them wires? I think they're an interesting detail, but I'm hoping they're not too distracting.
A) Make everything upside down
Terrible zoom and really bad 'quality'
Awesome!!!!
I agree.
I think the wire distracts from the antique feel, as I said, but I suppose I'm a minority on that.
Other than the Engineer, the Sniper is the one most likely to modify existing weaponry to better suit it's purpose/ use.

Like reklas said, post a few first person views when you get the chance.
As for the wires, that'll need some major jiggleboning to look good.

You'll have to work quick if you want to get one out.
