i think it would be a nice touch to make the driller logo that pops up flicker then light up, like you would see at a petrol station in the middle of the night
Zable, I think that would be a wonderful touch. But, the only way I know of doing it would be to make the texture an animated one. And, by doing that, increasing the filesize of the texture greatly. It is a nice touch, but one that I do not feel would be good for this contest, since everything is already limited.
Haha. I really had little choice with the logo. It was big enough to not fit in the tank and small enough to not slide from the body gracefully. Inflating looked best from the options.
I like the orange colored tank. The barrel on the right side might need something a bit different for texture than brownish-orange though, imo. It isn't a big deal, though.
Yeah. There is a lot of variance in the color and wear marks on it, but they still didn't seem to turn up much in the render. I'll add a bit more and try getting a better view of it. Right now, however, I am finishing up the animation for level 2.
I severely dislike the current screen. It looks like something from the 80s. You have to remember it is 1968. There weren't screens like that. Look at 2fort. Those mainframes take up an entire room. That is what a computer was back then.
A television screen may be more appropriate.

I already have splotches, but I am always too subtle with them. That is why my wrench seemed too... clean. I am very cautious when making the detail strokes like that and end up making them too transparent because I am unsure.
I can go back and make them more contrasting, though, and see how it looks.

I've decided against the Marshal's Set going in the pack. I was never too satisfied with it.
I actually chose Longhorn's Pride as the name of the horns, but your choices made me reconsider. I love Head Honcho's Headspurs as the name. Alliteration truly is wonderful.
I had an idea similar to the T.E.X.A.N. as well, but it was F.U.E.L. Your idea is better. I think Ghost-town Gas Station and The Oasis are the best ideas there, though.
The Westerner captures the pistol perfectly. It was modeled from a composite I made of several western pistols, both revolvers and repeaters.
Actually, I might go with Slick's Service Station. But, I am not sure if it should be called a station or a pump. But, if it were to be called pump, I would choose a different name. Because it would break the alliteration on that.
Haha. If I did change it to pump, "Pete's Perpetual Pump."

The screen is merely the temporary screen Valve uses, apparently. It is rendered over in-game.
If I zoomed in, the screen texture actually says "This Screen Is Temporary."
I suggest making a few paint splotches and brush strokes over the mainly flat colors you already have on the textures similar to what he did.
I can go back and make them more contrasting, though, and see how it looks.
Although, I still need good names for the dispenser, wrench, and horns.
I have been brainstorming for the past hour but am having some trouble with it.
