@Muzz I am using maya
Do mean Soften edge when u say smoothing groups ? @Jackablade will fix that
@ Muzz really nice work on texturing yellow pad at paint look flat
@ kite,Ravenslayer,Noel Cower awesome work guys
@ Rick Stirling nice start
Started on the lower armor segment. There are probably some other changed bits, I'm not sure now. Didn't make the deadline, but I'm going to finish this some way or another, considering I've got as much done already as I have.
Also not sure about what I'll do with the front of the armor, since it looks very dull when blank, and those inlets just don't feel right either. Don't know yet, I still have a few ideas though.
Thanks Rick, your texture is coming out great!
Here is an update, I know the texture size is much bigger than intended, but it easier to work this way for me.

I really like the hand drawn looks of the of face, reminds of of Borderlands.
I also use Photoshop, maybe you should work on a higher resolution and then Scale down? that way you can add more definition
with stuff this lowrez, it's usually better to work on the actual resolution so you don't get a washed out look after resizing. but that's only AFAIK. http://www.poopinmymouth.com/tutorial/resize.htm
You are Right Japhir, but while im working this way im already thinking before time how it will end up looking when its downscaled. to get the best crisp details though you must work at original res.
there are some parts of BOBOs UVs that I don't really understand, for example, in the face, a side of the nose is mirrored, but there's no reason for that
And in the top of the head, on what is suposed to be hair, theres a triangle separated but i guess thats for adding extra non mirrored detail.

I'm not sure i dont know the terminology in maya, but you need to smooth the normals out.

I haven't had much time at all to work on mine- people keep wanting to do stuff during lunch. I should bring the psd home or something

still w/symmetry, i'll stop mirroring the face over after its a bit more polished

Working true to size on this, though in the previous update I'd doubled the head.
the uvs i've seen, cannot be unseen
I finished the head

had some time over the weekend to plug into this one
trying the greyscale "moose" technique
coloring & highlights still abound
