So far it seems rather symmetrical without much point of interest.
It also looks a bit too symmetric to me.
I am going to try to break up the symmetry a little towards the end by adding some rocks and dirt and plants. I may break some of the sculptures too.
haha cool. I would like to see yours where can I find it
worked on the top canopy and finished some textures for some of the models
The grout (spacing) between the larger stones in the wall looks odd against the smaller stones at the bottom which have minimal distance between each other even though they are very large, heavy stones. One would think they would have used the same materials in building this temple. Additionally that picture of the carpet on the ceiling is just another example of a conflicting style by just hucking in photorealism.
This lack of unification will bite you in the ass in the long term as no matter the level of atmospheric effects added to the scene will hide it. Consider adopting a single style and recreating your materials in that one.
Awesome art there, great sculpting and detailing!
i build the scene in the udk
as a mini project to work in the enigne
i did not start a wip thread keep it up
I totally agree with what your saying, actually that was what was bugging me last after I stopped working on this thing. I hate when your art is haunting you even when you need to stop working and relax. the good thing is that the some of the stone you speak of will be replaced with other art. And I wasn't dig the big persian rug looking thing on top either. I'm probably gonna change it.
Yeah I think it would fit a lot better if you changed the carpet to something more like the concept. Because you have a modern carpet in an ancient looking room.
*Edit* whoops juts read that your gonna change it anyway.
Flames or smoke would look cool.
defanitly , I still have plenty to add. I was working on the throne chair today , It should be done and up here by tomarrow
Yeah the lighting is not at all final, and it will probably change dramatically by the time I'm done. Its only there to help me work on the modeling and textureing .
ha, not sure, maybe to save memory
thanks for the positive feadback everyone. there Will be fire!
my udk progress
Anyway they're both looking nice. NBac you should make your own thread for your scene. It's never good to steal another member's thread.
Also tips for the lighting that might make your workflow easier: Keep EVERYTHING greyscale, then set up your lighting based on the mood you are going for and then from there start adding color bit by bit into your scene to balance the hues out in the scene so it doesn't look so boring and monotone.
GLuck
i found it interesting because its the same reference and i thought to show/see a different approach would inspire both of us. (i hope thise make sense in english )
best regards
lol thanks for pointing that out. No worries, I thought it was kind of funny. Nbac your thing is looking pretty bad ass, why don't you hove your own thread. I would love to see it. Feels like its turning into a little friendly rivalry. lol.
I guess I'm just gonna have to work even harder.

Im going to take your advice about the lighting and the rug, so thank for that.
I will have more progress tonight. I've started on the plant life and I think its coming out pretty cool. can't wait to show you guys.
Remeber Lighting temp and needs work. Good Environment lighting tutorial would be really appreciated
explain plz
what renderer do you use? sun light should not have soft shadows a little blue ambi light from the sky and a little more diffuse bounces and your lighting should be done beside the fire light
the foliage looks good too!
any suggestions on things I should add are welcome. Im also planing on lighting it as a night scene as well.
