Update :
=======================================================================================================================
sup guys,
been a while since i worked on something for my portfolio so i though ill add
another thing to it, didnt wanna do a gun bu i realized i never posted any real
life realtime guns, and everything i did is under NDA that i cannot post yet
so here a wip thread for an mp5
if ya wanna follow be my guest
also, if u have refs for cool mp5 loaded post them up
not sure how this mp5 will be but it wont be standard one
started today..
Replies
maybe last one for today
From looking at your portfolio, this is going to be real sick!
hope that helps
more from today, the stock was a pain in the butt
...great work man
ill post wires on the next post
and if ya have some pics of nice MP5s plz post
i started the receiver with lots of segs cause its detailed and if u wanna detail
something and still keep stuff round and smooth u have to use it
so then i move to that part at the back, u can see its almost the same shape as the receiver but abit wider, so i cloned a stack from the receiver and worked on it
then i did the stock part (the thingie u pull back) the top of it had same shape at the cover of the receiver do i selected the polies that looks as the same shape, dragged it back and worked on it
then i had to bend it abit to the back, and when u bend something u should have even gaps between the edges so i added alot of then and bent it
if i was starting each part from scratch i could have used less polies but why? it high poly anyway
hope it helps
It would be nice to see some inset floaters around those smaller screws(i haven't seen your ref, i just think it may look cool), and also, you've got a sort of ugly intersection going on between the main metal part, and the plastic pistol grip. What i like to do here, is sort of make an outline around the part(i would do it in the metal chunk here) and then extrude in a bit, with proper control edges etc to just give a nice soft little inset where the parts meet. This adds a good deal and i think is appropriate with the level of detail you've got currently.
So, these are pretty minor issues, and you'll still have a good model if you ignore them all, but just a few things that would "put it over the top" i think.
i will also weld the cylinder/magwell/lower body later on
added the R.A.S, not sure about itm it aint accurate and isnt welded but most of gonna be covered so ill see about that later
:P
heres the covers on
hmm now.. should i add aimpont and laser marker or mount a grenade launcher on it?
o.O
my
gosh
sexalicious.
just curious though.... what's up with all the double banded ammo clips lately? seems like everyone is stackin' that reserve up on their models? just me? bah, i dunno... still made me punch myself in the sack
oh, and the MP5 is my favie sub.... i was so pissed they knocked this model out of MW2... still am now that i think about it..... damn you infinity ward! damn you for taking away my mp5!
Looks great though! I would make a red-dot sight. Nothing fits a trusty smg better than a solid and accurate red-dot!
keep up

would be paper-thin if you consider it to scale. have you got a ref showing it so thin?
donno i just want it detailed so i added the double clip, clean mp5 would be boring :P
i was wondering to wheres the mp5 on COD too O_O
thanx for the feedback guys
heres an aimpoint i stole from my old m4 O.o
Picked up my mp5 airsoft gun real quick. Pretty damn spot on. Can't wait for the next update.
Looks super awesome btw.
added front sight and the aimpoint mount
heres the rail wire, like i said i didnt connect the rail to the body, im short on time and its covered like u see so i hade to pass on it
yea but its easier and quicker to past it on the normal map later on
if it was the only thing i was working on i would model it too
but i have to spend most of my time on other stuff
=\
thanx again for the feedback
anything is welcomed
i see some stuff that i need to fix already O.o
and i like that bump, ill keep it on the bake for the low poly :P
went back to the body and welded it
Looks great! BTW do you know what ever happened to SixShooter?
