Does anyone have a script or file they use for lighting when doing normal/AO rips in max? A guy at work uses one, but I didn't get it from him, and I don't know where he got it from.

This allows you to plug in an image onto the dome geometry and the lights color is sampled from the pixels around it giving you a bit of faked HDR lighting. Elight might do the same thing but I've never used it that way.
Also TexTools has a AO bake, which I think is just a quick launch to Mental Ray AO bake with predefined settings.

These are good because you can adjust the settings for the lights globally after the dome is created. Even hide or delete the dome.
