Bit confused at the moment about this part of the game. It seems the only way to get to the arl is by helping out the townspeople with the monsters that come out at night, yet whenever I accept a quest or offer to help them morrigan disapproves and Im trying to raise the approval level with her.
Is there anyway to get past it? and if there is, am I missing out on good side quests?
Thanks.

If you are doing "good" actions/responses then she will disapprove most of the time.
You'll lose approval points but it's easy to win those points back through other means. Just go ahead and help out the townspeople and then win her back with gifts afterward.
it seeths with evil and probably has teeth.
Off topic but...Go see this!

Vagina Dentata!!
SPOILERS\I approved of the blood mage and Allistair fucking started hating me with -35 pts. But it's ok I don't like that guy that much./SPOILERS
As for Morrigan being a bitch, well she's the darkest character in your party, and probably the most useful as well. (unless you are a mage) And she's nowhere near as evil as her mother.
At any rate, don't we all good nerdy boys like bad girls? hehe
I'll have to play again so I can try romancing Lelina or wynne
I played a rogue, and as such Morrigan was my ultimate badass ranged DPS, until
She (and I suppose any other mage) can hand out some fucking mega damage. Who cares what she thinks? Just tell her to straighten up and fly right, or you'll put that pussy Alistair in charge. That'll get the bitch moving.
Well that sucks, I might as well start a male career now.
EDIT: I find that in DA:O it's not all clear what you say is "bad" or "good" like in the Mass Effect series. There you know that clicking top right choices gets you insta-paragon, and even though I don't always want to say what's there I subconsciously keep pressing it. (although I do agree with the choice for 90% of the time.) In DA:O I actually click what I would say IRL and that really juggles how much the other characters like you.

That is exactly the reason I love that game so much. After you say "fuck it, I'm gonna start doing whatever I want to do" the game just goes to another level of enjoyment imo.
haha what
gotta say I loved the ending.
