Here is a little weapon I´ve done for an as of yet unannounced project here at Fatshark, but I got permission from the boss to post it here anyway, one of the perks of working for a small company
Rendered it out in Marmoset, cuz its so f*cking kickass
*thumbs up 8monkeylabs*
The texture could use some more love, it was a rushjob done over 4 hours or so. Might finish it up on my own freetime, we'll see.
It clocks in at 12k triangles now. We needed it done quickly so optimization took a blow because of that. 2048x2048 color/normal/spec. Separate ammo cart still to come
Hope you like it

maybe one flashlight does infrared or something.
hey it has two triggers too. and two barrels. nice. whats the secondary round?
..looking good ^^
Also where does the magazine go?
Awesome work, don't get me wrong!
The riffle butt could be more curved since u usually touch it with the shoulder.
Do u need some of those xD
The texture is lacking tbh. For a rush job on a large model it's acceptable, but being that this is an FPS weapon that is going to be on screen a lot then it is probably good to spend even one extra hour adding to it. If I knew what kind of grunge level you were looking for (clean, dirty, in the middle) I could tell you exactly what to add.
Just a couple things off the bat though that I noticed... The screws are all covered with the camo overlay still. It's probably a good idea to mask off the camo overlay from them, then highlight the screws on the spec to make them pop a bit more. You could also do that edge highlight trick using xnormal photoshop filters or crazybump to really push those edges and details on the normal map that aren't popping.
The plastic is too noisy and rough looking imo. I would smoothen out the noise on the diffuse and make it noisier on the spec. It's also a large area with no real details, so you may want to add some text next to the fire selector switches to liven up those large plastic areas down there.
Marmoset is certainly doing its job here. I'd turn the gloss level up though as the highlights are looking rather flat. There are a few areas where the normal mapping isn't very effective and there appear to be hard edges, particularly the screw hole pointing at the player and the rear of the scope.
A good start, just needs something more.
Wires, please!
Awesome!
Maybe the second barrel shoots the brass out using the gases.
Why waste you can double the firepower? :P
Indeed, the ejection port will replace one of the side attachment points(or whatever you call them), when I have time.
illustrative pic!
@Racer445
Fair points, will take the time to adress most of them when able Though I dont agree on all of them
You look like a spaceship!
and some minor tweaks to spec map and material in marmoset:
Only reason I could think would be if the secondary is a shotgun for CQB and that's what the lights are also for?
Who said it was a sniper rifle?
Good point. I thought I saw that. Guess I assumed a .50cal assault rifle would be ridiculous, as nobody on earth could actually hold it while firing :P
Only crit I would give is the 2nd (lower) trigger guard could use some more geometry, i think sparing some tri's there would really make it look a lot nicer.
The renders look great though, nice work.
You are probably right that no one on earth could hold it
@jett12
Not really necessary as it is meant to be seen from a first person view
@brandoom
Totally. it already has attatchment points for a shoulder strap, just no strap attached yet. hehe
Anyway nice to see something like this from you guys. I'm very curious now
Well, it is possible: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiWn-0gKOm8[/ame]
Atleast with semi-automatic firing that is. But yeah, it'd still be quite cumbersome :poly122:
Unless the guys had nano suits!
It's a kickass rifle/thingy you've done anyway. Love it

The guns looks cool but its very big compared to modern day weapons. But I prefer cool over real-life guns.
Badass
One thing you might want to think about is a second ammo point for the second barrel, and also plan a second ejection chamber too. Maybe a second cocking handel somewhere too, unless that barrel dosnt acctualy shoot lol.
You could have a laser pointer, IR pointer or something in stead of the other light tho.
Nice stuff anywayz, I love the shark
btw like, a lot of the stuff makes no sense. there are what appears to be sight adjustment knobs at the back for a sight which isnt present or adjustable
the angled screw looks good from FPV while making no sense
the actual modelling and texturing is real tight though and it looks fine. if youre not worried about technicalities, then, sick one
Nice work.
Just kiddin, I think it looks awesome. I am having a hard time trying to wrap my head around how large it is though. If it's as big as the trigger grip is implying, you'd think the barrel grip would require you to really reach forward in order to hold it properly.
Nice job PixelGoat, can't wait to see the final texture work.
