Well, I would have to disagree with you there. The word kraut in this context is meant as endearing, not condesending.
If you notice the whermacht tabs on his collar, you would know that this little guy represents the mainstay of the german army, not the SS. That means that the uniform does not represent any of the horrible things that were done in WWII, but just a code of duty that goes beyond what crazy SoB were chancellor at the time.

looks like you're off to a good start on the hp. Folds are looking a leetle too blobby and too numerous atm i think, a few well defined major folds running down the arms would be cool.
Anyways, still early so looking forward to updates ^^

A bit of update on the folds, I think they are quite good now:
Its not as much a polycount logo as it is a smiley face, notice the absence of teeth. Thought it was better than the "God is with us" bit in german and the smug looking prussian eagle.
Never the less we Danes owe the Brits some recognition; after all, they were the ones liberating us.
Can't wait to see this guy completed. go go go
