Hello all, particularly to those in the Seattle Washington area.
I am proposing that we have a Polycount Christmas party (or "holidays party" if we want to be more PC <== bad pun)
Last time we had a meet-up must have been back in June right? Let's do something now since it's been almost half a year. I recall that the restaurant was Blue C Sushi in Bellevue and there was some complaining about that so how about we keep it at Seattle, try to dig around for a place that can provide enough parking. Course if it was up to me, I'd suggest the best pizza place evar, Acropolis in Kirkland (parking and free party room available without all the BS large group charges).
Any input? Votes for a place to meet? Is this a stupid idea? It's not like we have to do a secret Santa or anything. Or could we... who knows.
My date suggestion is Friday the 11th in case people are out of town for Christmas by the 18th.
Milk and cookies,
-Zilk AKA the-only-female-Polycounter-who-showed-up-at-the-last-Seattle-ish-meetup. Excuse me for my lack of being social that day (I was shyyy).

As for the secret santa, bad idea!
Any place with good food, good drinks that's affordable is fine by me!
I AGREE!

Xmas? Bah Humbug!
Oh.
AND WE ARE MEETING IN SEATTLE THIS TIME!
Here is a suggestion. Better parking, and near I90.
Georgetown
Here are restaurants
This is also a up and coming artist center.
If you want Pizza and Beer. What about Stellar Pizza? Homemade dough and local meats.

edit: georgetown is the shit
I don't drink and I won't steal people's shit.
Zilk can you gimme sugar cookies im not allergic to and maybe not real milk I rather not be sick for x-mas
I'm in, pending shady finances. If it's downtown I'll have to see about getting a hotel room somewhere cheap, as I'd like to toss some shots with people. Don't want to drive home!
I would totally go to one in Seattle... If I had any way to get there.
I'll come! (I wish! )
Shit, if I had the money I'd go to Germany in a heartbeat! Definitely one of the places I want to visit.
achillesian - nobody is too newb to go!
on the serious though, this would be fun, maybe do a white elephant type gift xchange? i make a wicked awesome hot buttered rum mix!
I would have no idea how to go about doing that. Virtual no-dairy cookie good?
Seriously.
This man is on a mission! Someone get him a house party, stat!
I could probably go as well, will have to see where it ends up and whatnot.
That aside, lets agree on a place to meet. If we go eastside. I'd like to recommend some place awesome and totally unhealthy: WingDome in kirkland. Hotwings and beer. Yes, it's a man suggestion... sorry zilk. If seattle.... are you guys more interested in drinking, or eating? There's great spots all across the sprectrum.
Georgetown Ferg! The parking is at available to some degree. More than anything in Ballard,Fremont, etc. Its also near the freeway so getting back on i90 would be easier than something west of I5.
9 lb hammer has good beer, decent food.
jules maes does live music/burlesque and they have a back room that we could camp out if there not doing a show.
all of those are within stumbling distance of each other, but no lodging around there.
Next year ill probably be set up to host something in brisbane but not now .
No flying up for me for the Seattle Christmas Party, I'm going to miss the party by about a month or so. Stupid expensive airfare during peak holiday season!
I'm keen to do a meet-up with you guys some time in Feb as well. But that's a whole new discussion.
Oh well can we say x-mas seasonal beer?
A Hanukkah party is the way to go.
Or Quanza, whatever the hell that is.
Either way, I ain't going.
well on the danger of getting slaid for this but there's going to be a mapcore meet-up in frankfurt before christmas (hopefully) - lot of polycounters there as well.
I like small parties like the PC gatherings we've had, but I can't tolerate the big ass parties you through. hah! They look like great fun, but my S.A.D is bad enough that I would never enjoy it.
Vassago: Hmmmm booze won't turn that SAD frown upside down buddy?
Adam: You got a facebook profile right? Hit me up on that and I'll send you the monthly invites I send out, it'd be cool to have ya!
That goes for everyone else too, though I have most of the Seattle PCers on FB anyways, but hey if you're in the Oregon or Vancouver, BC and don't mind a few hours' drive for a great party with some great folks, hit me up on Facebook thru the polycount group!
If we want to have a industry folks gathering lets start by seeing if anyone has a preference on the date, I'm thinking maybe second weekend in December? My place is in the Juanita area of Kirkland and it'll definitely be a BYOB affair. I'm open to suggestions on what should be at the party, ie drinks, food, games, drinking games, etc.
im still up for a white elephant, good way to get to know people, and fun too.
you're probly to cool to attend being from seattle proper and all. best to just stay home that day.
Wingdome would be fun for a get together.
