Level Artist
We are currently seeking a Level Artist to join the Firaxis team to create Unreal levels for our future projects. The Level Artist is responsible for collaborating with the design staff to create visually compelling levels in the Unreal engine. You will work with our Lead Artist as well as designers to synthesize design requirements, lighting and level composition and in doing so, craft great looking game environments.
Primary Responsibilities: Create and polish Unreal 3 levels Utilize the Unreal Engine toolset to set lighting throughout the level, light-mass experience a plus Create visually compelling environments Organize large amounts of level data
Required: Outstanding level art portfolio Unreal 3 experience Strong aptitude for lighting and composition Ability to collaborate effectively with design staff Adept at visual storytelling with an understanding of flow and pacing
Preferred: Environment modeling skill At least one shipped UE3 title
Visual Effects Artist
We are currently seeking a Visual Effects Artist to join the Firaxis team to create awe-inspiring effects for our future projects. The Visual Effects Artist is responsible for creating effects in the Unreal engine as well as working with the Unreal toolset to configure physics properties for game assets. You will work with our Lead Artist to figure out how best to approach these and other technical challenges related to the effects presentation.
Primary Responsibilities: Create visual effects Utilize the Unreal Engine toolset to author shaders and set physics properties Problem-solve other visual effects issues with fellow leads Organize large amounts of VFX data
Required: Outstanding effects portfolio Unreal 3 experience General technical aptitude Ability to collaborate effectively with technical staff
Preferred: Shader FX or HLSL experience. At least one shipped UE3 title
