Why make a poll when its based on your opinion? I mean, why not a thread where you ask what each persons opinion is for it? "Other" is somewhat a slap in the face.
On the other hand I have to agree, you've chosen games that don't look that great (Brutal Legend) and missed out many games that look fantastic. Better luck next time.
plus ... it's october. I know some shops have started stocking christmas cards already, but you're shooting your load a tad early there i think. Bloody hell, one of those games isn't even out yet.
Borderlands arguably has the better art style, but the Brutal Legend environment is so crammed full of metal touches (and the skies are a work of art) that it's hard to decide. That said, I'm basing the Borderlands stuff off videos/screenshots and not actually on playing the game first hand
Wanted to say Far Cry 2 but that was end of last year, not played any new games for a while as my tv is broken Anyway, sure am looking forward to the wrath of Doom 4.
how come nothing on this list is older than october?
if all you're going for is looks, where's Fight Night Round 4? Resident Evil 5 or Street Fighter 4? heck what about Mini Ninja's and Shadow Complex? and where's Arkham Asylum?

I wish that every time someone said something was a slap in the face, they actually got slapped in the face. That would be pretty cool.
My favorite game for 2009 was Batman, but I've just started playing Uncharted 2. With so many big games still to come, this thread would make more sense in January.
aion is already a year old, I don't think you can compare it to MW2... also, you are attempting to compare an mmorpg that's meant to run on a wide variety of hardware setups and maintain low ping vs an FPS that was designed for a specific hardware set, so there's a lot of extreme texture stretching on some objects in aion compared to something like MW2
RE5 is just stunning. Not the best game though, but easily one of the best looking games I've ever played.
Haven't tried Uncharted 2 yet, but I heard that's right up there.
I never thought Modern Warfare 1 had insanely benchmark-setting graphics, and I doubt MW2 will either. It was thoroughly immersive, amazingly well art directed, one of the best games I'd ever played, but I wouldn't put it in the same breath as RE5, Gears, FF13, or Crysis.
When striving for hyper-realism, there's simply too many elements that break immersion.
Uncharted hands down. The worlds have so much depth, even though they are a bit linear, it is the most detailed world ive ever seen in a video game. Plus the 80k poly characters for cut scenes.
Killzone is a close 2nd, mostly because of the post effects. Environments get dull, and multi player maps feel empty.
MW2 will be awesome with its 60 frames per second online. Best online game, and I havent even played it!
RE5 here, although Stalker:COP looks amazing, if it gets a EU/NA release this year, that would be my vote.
I'm glad somebody had sense to mention Stalker even though COP is not out yet i'm playing Clearsky and it looks awesome. The choices on this poll are pretty weak though. Aion?! Isn't that 11 months old and the art style is cock awful.

tsc... tsc... tsc.. this poll NO FAIL, I was just wondering from the games I LISTED which one you guys would think its best. It seems people dont understand that.
Yes, RE5 and Arkham Asylum are great to add too.
This is Best graphics from the games I listed, and if there's any other game you can add here... I can DEFINATELY do another poll later... so, dont complain... heh
we still have the rest of Q4 games to be released such as dragon age and assassin creed 2 if it doesn't get backdated.
also i hated RE5, its no wonder the original creator Shinji Mikami didnt didnt want to play it!:poly003:

Really? Out of three places, the thread topic, the poll title, and your post, I never got the impression that you were looking for which one of THOSE is the best, specifically...
Well, that's no fun, then. Uncharted 2. I've never played it, but from what I hear, it's as close to perfect as a game's come in a while, graphics and gameplay-wise. Aion isn't that pretty and not very inventive, Brutal Legend has solid direction, but not the best quality, and it seems the gameplay is an acquired taste. Modern Warfare 2 is... well, more of the same. So, Uncharted 2. Doesn't help that it's the only PS3 exclusive of the bunch, those AAA PS3 exclusives get VERY pretty. Stupid superior hardware...
I Though Call of Juarez: bound in blood had about the best graphics ive seen this year, although the first level looks pretty crappy. But has great looking characters, and most the environments are top notch. Actually most of the newer games ive played on my computer looked great, lol.
I don't know. It seems a little premature for a poll like this to be coming out. Not only are we not out of this fiscal year, but even the calendar year has yet to close. We've got all of November and December left for major releases to come out. I'm holding off until the year has actually run its course.
Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, RE5 need to go up there.
+1
i've played all and my vote has to go to uncharted2 still. The amount of detail, texture resolution, unique models/textures is just mind blowing. I cant imagine how they made so much shit for that game. The visuals are just unreal...

This poll = fail.

Border what?

Ultra-realistic graphics can go suck a lemon.

Quoted for truth. I love RE5.
and Uncharted 2 looks better than Killzone 2 for sure

Agreed. Batman and RE5 get my vote for games that have actually been released. Haven't seen Uncharted 2, but hear it's pretty spectacular.
The ingame model has horrible proportions though =((

My votes in no order:-
Batman
Call of Juarez
Resident Evil 5
You forgot to include mother-fucking Borderlands.
This poll = EPIC fail.
Here, if it would make you happy.
*slaps self in face*
oh wait but is this best graphics or best game?
Yes, RE5 and Arkham Asylum are great to add too.

proportions of that game were made to appeal to the Japanese crowds. :shifty:

the title is completely ambiguous
if its graphics I'd go with uncharted 2.
