WIP Nev

Hey all,
I'm in the midst of learning Max. I've been using Maya almost exclusively till this point. Anywho, as my first character model in Max and second attempt at a game model, I decided to do Nev.

Bear in mind a lot of these are just really roughed out forms. Any feedback is much appreciated though.

And I just started refining the face over the weekend. It still feels pretty poly heavy though, and the forms aren't right yet.

I've also been trying to figure out hair solutions for the character. I foresee issues with building the helmet and mask over the hair. It seems like it's going to hurt the form of the hair a bit. Not only that, I was shown wires from a game character; and the hair was modeled though extrusions straight from the head. Is this normal or is hair generally modeled as a separate mesh?
