Irfanview has a shell extension where you can right click on an image and convert it another format. I use it all the time, very very useful timesaver.

even if you don't use it as your main image viewer, you can still install irfanview for it to take care of such things. I'll post my setup if I can find it tomorrow. Basically a friend wrote me a little script doing the following :
right click a psd > send to > jpg created in the same folder, plus a copy in a artdump folder.
Very handy!
