Site updated too, although it seems a bit slow atm, it only just went live so probably some teething troubles, it's a very nice slick site though, and shows some cool videos and character customisation stuff
MoP, every time I see you've posted in this thread, I can't click on it fast enough :P Site is all but down for me You love dangling things in front of my face only to pull them away and slap me!
Resurrecting the thread, there's a new dev diary from Aubrey Hesselgren, our designer who's been the main driving force behind the "SMART" movement system.
Brink impressed me yet again on E3, this is the game im looking forward to the most to come out!
However I saw that whenever you killed anyone a message comes up saying you ''defeated ¨name¨''. I just think its kinda odd way of putting it for just a frag. Whatever, just keep giving us (me) more updates!
Yeah, I love that line from the blog, it's totally true, I've done the same thing actually.
We play a fair bit of L4D2 at lunchtime at work and the thing we always come back to as sucking is the player movement, getting caught on tiny ledges, step-ups or just general crap getting in the way that just stops you dead. So annoying!
Once you've tried out the system, going back to standard FPS movement is pretty tough
Looks really great, getting killed 90% of the time is usually because you get stuck on some random object or cornered in a room, this really opens up so much possibilities.
BRINK's technology started out as the version of id Tech 4 developed by us for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars. We've since upgraded major parts of the technology and it now runs on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 from the same codebase and tries to share as many assets as possible between those platforms. As part of this process, the renderer has been revamped to be friendlier for consoles and modern graphics cards.
Also it features Aubrey, the most well-spoken game designer you will ever find, also a parkour-ist, and generally all-round top guy.
TASTE THE MAGIC!
This is it. This video has completely sold me to Brink and has made me very excited.
When It was announced, I could not care less about Brink, when I saw the art direction, It got alot of respect from me, but I still saw it as just another shooter. Recently, I've seen some gameplay videos and It's started looking like another very good shooter - I think I want this game!
But that video, so some reason, made me want it NOW. Maybe its because mirrors edge is one of my favourite games, maybe It's seeing more of the levels but I am completely sold. Where do I put my money?
Looks really promising, looking forward to it.
Sorry if this has been asked already, but are there any plans on releasing tools? Not sure how open-ended the game will be, but this gives me a level-design itch I haven't felt since Quake 3.
This game can not come out soon enough...it seems like every new video makes the art look better and better...I hope there will be some kind of god mode so I can just stand around in the levels gawking at everything.
Ah the lead level designer was a cool guy. Didn't talked to long with him on gdc but followed his conversation with my friends. Looking forward to play Brink.
Had a chance to play at gamescom. What a pretty game this is! Brilliant work on the character side, I wish I'd had more time to look around in the config menus. Weapon models are really nice also, they're from 3point right? I'm looking forward to the single player so I can check out the environment without getting fragged every other second Great work guys.
hahah literally just saw that on GT. looks awesome, the more I see the more excited I am for this game. really cant wait to get a feel for this smart move system they are touting, the idea of it gets me stoked to slide under something while unloading half clip into a guy from sternum to head the enviros looks awesome, I hope they release a ton of concept art after its out
Hey Mop, what's the word on the release date? I had a pre-order popup in Steam a few days back and insta-ordered it, but now I hear it's been pushed back until next year. Is that correct, or is that info out of date?
Game looks gorgeous as ever! I'm really looking forward to playing with the movement system too, it looks like an evolution far above and beyond the "your whole body got stuck on a 4 inch door frame" issue that has been in shooters forever.
Have to say, I almost shot coffee out my nose laughing when the guy at the end says "taste the magic".

Tully, excellent concept action as always.

im not saying is not good,
in fact its awesome and effective design.
not many AAA games dare to touch non mainstream art style like you guyz, me salute!!
i hope brink can bring more variation of game audiences.
looking forward to it
I'd recognize their fumefx anywhere
The green assassin guy is pretty awesome. I especially dug the lighting/atmosphere when he was inside the container.

Kinda feels like an Aeon Flux episode mixed in with the obvious Matrix and John Woo sequences, fun stuff.
Can't friggin wait for this.
That is really up to our publisher.. although rest assured there is more than enough stuff to fill an art book!

Stuff it directly into Mop's panties.
