Hey guys, I started working on this the other day, it started out as an anatomy study, but I plan to add some clothing/gear and texture it for my portfolio.
I'm not really happy with a few things like the leg anatomy or hands, so I would appreciate any crits for those as well.
I'm working on new topology right now so I can do the fine detailing on the skin and muscles. I would appreciate any C & C you could give me. Ill keep updating the thread with new WIPs.
Cheers.

General fighter musculature is more prominent in shoulders, traps, neck and spinal erectors. From there, picking your fighter's style of fighting will define the way their body looks more than "I think the calves should look bigger" or "smaller obliques" nit-picky crits anyone can give you. For example, wrestlers tend to have overall thicker muscles, strikers being more lean with most muscle around the clavical ring and traditionalists often looks more like normal guys not well defined.
...and yes, more cauliflower ear. :P
Think of it this way... if he were to extend his arms, the hands should simply cover his crotch (try it IRL to see what I mean).
The legs look a little short as well.... (the thigh looks fine, the calf looks like it needs to be extended).
Overall it's pretty cool but looks very stylized. Some of the muscle shapes seem off too.
Definitely a really good start!
May seem like a lot of crits but they are all fairly minor quick fixes, overall the detail is good and the sculpting is solid. Great start.
As others said he's got a pretty stylised look, first thing that jumped out at me was the shoulders then the feet. Upper torso seems huge horizontally and the feet seem hella boney / weird, toenails seem to be cut in too much
@$!nz ... Thanks man!
@cholden .. Thanks for the tip on the weigh in photos!
@JacqueChoi ... Thanks for the tips, I have been trying to figure out what was off myself, and that proportion stuff I should I have known better. I think sometimes when you stare at a model for long enough, its easy to lose that fresh perspective. Thanks!
@Xaltar ... Thanks, I'm in the process of making the weaks now, hopefully it turns out good
@ Raider ... Thanks for the crits!
I just finished redoing the topology, so I'll be making the fixes you guys have suggested, I'll post some updates soon.
Cheers!
I wanna get my proportions correct before I start working on redoing some muscles in areas and adding clothing.
C & C please.

@ Ged ... Thanks, yah I need to do alot of work on the lower body still, thanks for the crits.
Here's another update of the upper body, fixed a few things bothering me. Now onto lower body and face.
But.... Your doing a great job so far man, keep refining it and checking your anatomy, your almost there!
[edit] oh and back area could also use some more detailiing and refineing. He's not showing enough definition currently for how lean he is.
Pull the pants up a bit more, most fighters like to have it higher up so they don't get in the way.. but basically everything else brad said
@Raider ... Thanks!
Okay guys, worked a bit on the face, and refined some other areas proportion wise. Next up is working on the lower body, then start detailing skin across upper body and hands.
C & C Welcome and appreciated.
True. Looking pretty good other than that.
Other then that looks good
Those knees also need work. The anterior border of the tibia doesnt go straight down like that, its curved. You had perfectly good knees/legs in post 10 but it all got fucked in pst 12. If you lost your work, doesnt mean the new rendition you do should be worse than the first one, actually the opposite wouldnt you say? dont rush it dude
My biggest problem with this model is the short however. It looks like a rush job and i think with the work youve put into the character, the shorts just dont match that skill level at all. There arent as many horizontal folds on shorts this short :P heres what i mean:

faraz pretty much has all the info you need to make this model that much better.
Great work so far. Just dont rush some things through, This is definitely a keeper in the folio. looking forward to the lp.
@Butt_shaib ... I see what your saying about the knees and back. I'll be going back to refine that stuff before I bake. About the shorts however, MMA shorts are definitely tighter

Looking great otherwise.
How about doing a before/after fighting shot. One were he is nicely done, the other beaten and bruised. Might make him a bit more interesting.
