Need Help Starting off :D

Hello all,

As some may know im new to 3ds max, and i really want to get to modeling, but i need some one to help me with some things:

For 1st when ever i make a plane or add segments od a object, it does then in triangles not squers,. how do i change this?

and when ever i got to the move tool or what ever, the little tool thig wuth the arrows and the yellow boxes and stuff does not show its just a gray and red line, i would like to change this too.

And what is the keyborad shourtcut of obrbating around my scene or object?

Go to Customize-Preferences-Viewports-Configure Driver and there is a setting for "display all triangle edges".

Press X to re-enable the gizmo.

alt-middle mouse to rotate around in your scene.

Ghost already said how to disable triangle rendering through the customize window above. If you're using max 2010 and are still having the problem make sure your driver in the Configure Driver section is set to Direct X 9 and not 10 as it forces it to render all tri's on some machines.
