Here's a model I just finished. One of the problems is that anything from the Gundam universe looks like poop in games unless it's cell shaded. I wanted to make it look as if it were kinda realistic in terms of paint scheme, got rid of the big ass white bullseye on the chest and the glowing red eye. Looking for crits on whatever you can throw about the mech. My next model is gonna be a Tachikoma, so whatever you mention here will be applied there.

Hey! Any chance you can post some wire frames and textures?

Looks good, although the surface looks a little dull. I'd try adding more contrast to the specular intensity.

model looks pretty decent, textures could use a bit more contrast everything is a similar shade of green. Like the vents on the chest could be black. But curious why you modeled the red comet but painted it like a normal zaku

The way the spec works I can make adjustment really quick. The shader I did in UnrealED network has control for intensity and contrast.

To be honest I know squat about Gundam other than I used to watch it as a kid and my brother in law has a room full of them. I just saw the thing on his shirt and wanted to make it real quick :).

Wanted a color scheme less like this:

    And more like this:

Well mardi gras colors would just look silly. IF you are going for an accurate model I would match the red comets coloring since it is a unique style of zaku and any gundam fan will likely call you out on it. If your not concerned about being true to the actual, then I would still add in more contrast. You could leave the majority of it as green but I would make the black parts in the reference black on you model as well.
That would give it good separation and make the green parts that much better.

I see what you mean. Will do.

Very nice model but I do not agree that gundam models should be cel shaded to look good. As a gundam fan and someone who has modeled this same unit, I think you did a GREAT job and love that you took a realistic spin to in.

Very nice and props all around.
