Hi guys i'm in the middle of my newest project which is based on Bombay,India. So here are my renders so far. I'll be posting a paint over of my lighting and colour schemes soon.
Yup... I second conte and vig, nice clean textures, fantastic shapes in your buildings, and just a really fun style overall, I can tell this is going to be a good scene, and fun to watch
Looking great man:thumbup: Nice conversion from the small high poly vehicle to the low and some nice high poly models building up too. Are you going to zbrush/mudbox any of these?
conte: thanks bud
Vig: i love it too
JasonLavoie: thanks man
Ged: thanks bro
Famouz: thanks, i'll be working very hard.
butt_sahib: thanks, i'll glad you checked out my portfolio
mikezoo: thanks, i was originally planning to have in game, but then decided to render it out of max.
whats_true: thanks man
c0ldhands: thanks i'm glad you like my ww2 set
Stertman: thanks, i like the bus too.
3dskillet: thanks, i'm planning to break this up later on. Right now i;m just blocking everything out.
Vassago: thanks man
GCMP: thanks, i'm planning to take a few buildings into zbrush to rough it up.
Here is an update on the cab. And the low poly bus, i still need to fix it up. Still a lot of work to do :poly127::poly142:
I'm glad I caught this thread before it slipped to page 2. I love the buildings, very nice layout and shapes. You've definitely got a good exotic urban vibe going on. That tuk tuk (3 wheeled car thingy) is great. I look forward to seeing more of this scene, keep it up

So guys here is a paint over and an update on the entire scene. I've replaced one of the street lights with a lamp post, fixed the last store (3rd from the right). So this paint over is just more stuff i need to add or replace, like wires, clothes lines, lights. I'll post my lighting scheme soon.
Looking forward to this one, we just got back from backpacking in India - sensory overload! The scene feels good already. Panel beating on the auto rickshaw would add some flavor later. Are you going to work with one main composition or detail out the whole scene (interior spaces etc?)

thanks man, i;ll be sure to add some indents in the rickshaw. I;ll be sticking with one composition right now. But i'll will be detailing the interiors that are visible to the camera. I plan to have have two different renders, one a night time shot, and a hot daytime scene.
awsome, love the place, would be cool to get one of the suspended highways above the scene in the foreground, and maybe a posh skyscraper in the BG, such a city of contrast between old and modern
I'm very impressed with how this entire scene is shaping up. Question: How are you building your hi-res versions? Do you start by building high and then breaking them down into simpler lowres versions?
Wow, it does look so real, but not "real" in the simple sense of the term... It's like you can feel how the life is in that place. Really, really good work, congratulations!
PS: the untextured version seems made of paper, it's a nice effect!

back with more textures. done blocking mostly everything. i'm gonna go back and fix most of the textures and and some minor small details here and there. Should be done by this weekend.
it's maybe still too hard to read, there's a lot of details everywhere... But it's may be due to thef lightning, and I guess it will be fixed.
As said before, some dirt would be a great add, as the corner are really sharp.
Do you plan to add more color? It seems a bit too desaturate.
But one more time, great job, I like the subject and the amount of little details here and here...
make few cracks on the road, some rust stains on the tin roofs, paint chipped off from the walls and scrapped posters. A bit foggy environment and you got yourself an India
one remark tho: it's all a bit to clean for indian standards. India is in general very dirty. There's heaps of rubbish in almost every corner, especially in cities. Only places that are very clean are temples.

Was gonna say it was looking really noisy with details everywhere, no real focal point to let the eye rest.
That said, it still looks really cool. Fun going over all the little details and getting into it
Nizza_waaarg: thanks bud
Wasnt the taxi suppose to be yellow from the top and black from the bottom?
