I am seeing if I can head down that way, just not sure if I can afford the cost of the event. I will let you know, and hope to see a few polycounters if I do get there.
I will be there Tuesday till sunday! Definitely down for some drinks! It will my first time at AGDC. If anyone wants to meet up please feel free to send a text, cell # is on my website's contact page
Josh, I talked with Bobo today and said I would give you guys a call for lunch tommorrow. And was hopefully going to catch the Austin Sketchgroup if that is still going to go on tommorrow night. Hope to finally catch up with a few of you, and hopefully meet up for some drinks!
yeah I wish the Austin GDC would have more art type stuff, we paid our tickets, but the company paid us while we were down there. Since they didn't have any art type stuff this year they decided not to let us go. Counting my pennies right now, and am still sick.. Have fun yo..
Met up with Kenny standing watching the video to The Old Republic (wearing the polycount shirt helped), met up with Brett (Spark) and Joey (Struve) for lunch. Overall not bad GDC, seems like more companies tell you to go saw some behind closed doors demos, good time overall. Not as big as GDC in CA.
My favorite was the pipboy pin over at the zenimax station
I was pretty disappointed with the lack of artists. I talked to James from Valve he had mentioned somewhere around %40 less companies this year around. Most are probably focusing on SF.
Favorite swag was the all you can drink party card from valve .
Even though we didn't make many connections at companies it was still a blast hanging out with you guys in Austin. Lookin' forward to unearthly so I'll have something to show in San Fran.
Big shout out to valve and Red Five for putting up with us noobs!
After being drunk, tired, starving and craving pizza finding Hoeky's Death Metal Pizza was like a gift from the metal gods. So good.
Was also a little saddened by the lack of artists who would be giving crits on stuff and the quick HR brush off of "apply online" but such is life. Did get some good feedback and info from the guys at Valve, Red 5, NCsoft and Eve so big thanks to them for there time.
