Hi there,
I'm new to polycount and game modeling but why not give it a try. Well, my 3d skills aren't great at all but that's the reason why we're all here. I think the workshops are a great opportunity and because of that i registered.
Present I'm at work and could not submit my first attempt but this will follow tonight.
My idea was to combine two household articles to create the ultimate melee weapon
... hence i taped a corkscrew onto a hand brush. Perhaps the favourite melee weapon of the engineer's wife of team fortress 2.
The lowpoly model is almost complete and we'll see how the different maps will look. Barely because if never done a normal map or transfered high/low meshes before.
Good luck guys.

erm...
looks nice and original!
not sure tho about the brush.. maybe another item would be best i think.
Well, I tried to add more details and unwrapp it afterwards but it was really horrible. I think I'll try something different. The brush itself doesn't satisfy me any more but the cork screw and the tape are a good start I think.
Well, currently it's only a baseball bat but I will attach some torn out teeth to the top. At the moment I don't know how to fit them into the mesh without destroying the polyflow. However I'll find a way because a pure bat doesn't satisfy me....
