Mayan Skatepark

Hey Guys
Just finished this underground mayan skatepark ctf map for unreal. the idea behind it is that a south american country found an underground mayan temple but was under such massive debt that they had to sell it, and the only taker was a concrete company who makes skateparks.



the park is called "faceplant" and its a large map because i wanted the player to really use the hoverboard in unreal.

Looks really cool, I really like the concept, the texture color and all but one question if it was supposed to be a mayan temple originally wouldn't there be more mayan artifacts and writings on the wall, there seem to be a lot of bare walls and pillars. If you hadn't said it was supposed to be mayan I wouldn't have thought mayan except for the statue.

looks pretty good! though, the quarter pipes that are surrounding the pillars throughout the level. they appear to have an edge that sticks off the pillar. check out some real skate parks, its rare to find a lip. they generally put them flush with the pillar so that people can ride up the wall as well.

slipsius: good point on the tip of the ramp. that can be taken care of with a simple reimporting into UE3

Zotter: I took some reference from mayan temples and interpreted my own civilization from a mix of other ancient civilizations.

can you skate around this place with a mod so that you get points for tricks? I have to agree with the others theres not much mayan about this, looks like a community skatepark in a dirty cave with a big neon sign. You couldve made some really cool decorative mayan pillars

Looks like a fun park, but ya i don't see any Mayan at all and the spec on that floor makes it look like plastic. Maybe some mayan statutes and pillars, broken and whole, would help.

No one has mentioned the fact that a concrete company bought it, but there's wooden ramps. Usually concrete parks are all concrete and metal, since they're usually outdoors. That's my only crit that hasn't been said already though. I'd love to skate that place =D
