The kicker? I'd say most of these were 30 minutes worth of work.
I know he has a sketch book already, but for shits & giggles I went through his
sketchbook, page by page, and dumped them on a single page for him. Knowing him he'll likely be selfless and blush a little, but I figured I'd share the page with you guys to really get the impact his collection of work has.
Its in order of latest to earliest and you can really see a progression in skills.
JT, I hope ya don't mind man.

i just went through them all.. omfg. so many! I didn't even realize there were that many. damn!
the jump in quality on the last 10 or so is amazing. and the overall progression is awesome to see.
Bravo!
Thanks for the entertainment!
i love his ideas.
why are there 2 photos of dogs on that page, adam
the only reason that i stopped jumping in now and then is because i feel like im spamming you with what you already know.
NOTHINGS GONNA EVER KEEP YOU DOWN!

Fantastic work
Or a zip file... or a dropbox location!
file> save page as
check the folder that's made.
and i don't mind at all! i gotta say that it was you guys that kept me posting all the time anyways and striving to get better.
i know the 2d shenanigans will always play second fiddle to the polygons here but to be able to improve from "crap" to "not that bad" in such an awesome environment has been wicked times.
it's actually pretty funny because the back stories initially were like a nervous twitch, like a 1-2 punch combo so that if my art bombed (and from the look of some of that earlier stuff whoooo boy) at least there was a story to help it out.
now i couldn't NOT write something about the dudes i draw, its like one big cool gumbo of art and story. and i'd like to thank all the greentooths here at PC for helping me keep at it and hopefully keep me at it.
you guys all rule and are the best forum community a sloppy artist like me could ever hope for, thanks.
thanks for throwing that together adam, you all made my day!
ooh clever, thanks.
!!!SECONDED!!!
I think it should be jouste sponsored, with the winner getting an original sketch
Your work is superb Jouste, please don't ever stop
i really think i'd need to throw in a case of beer and dinner to make that prize worth something
if there is enough interest you know i'd be down for that. and if there's more than 2 participants we could have runner up prizes!
to make it worth while the first person would get (on top of the case of beer and dinner on me) a drawing of their choice of character framed nicely so at least they could have a frame after all is said and done.
you guys are crazy, lol.
I'm super cereal.
as- the rules of the comp should be :P
A TOAST! To the man who gave Greentooth a body! :::raises pint:::
Awesome work Jouste!
@adam. that's based off the mindsmith concept. but it is such a super awesome version that nobody would believe that i drew it originally.
hey jouste, what resolution do you usually make these at? if they're still sketches made at lunch, i'm guessing good ole 72 dpi?
Nicely done.
I second this, by the way!
makes me want to take off my clothes and start up zbrush and sculpt some of that while naked!
Keep on being awesome please.
I believe this was Graff Pirate

The rest of the pics are awesome too. They all really have a lot of personality to them!
Think I might have to model something from that page now...
@sandbag: thanks man! i appreciate your first reaction and honesty.
@uneditablepoly: glad you dig the castle crasher stuff and good to hear your pals liked it as well.
@lampoly: to be mentioned in the same sentence as the creature box guys is really flattering thanks a ton!
@talon: be my guest dude!
ok i usually never do this but this year i had to cause i got some really sweet birthday presents.
last friday (21st) was my b-day. so i got a wicked BBQ from my pal curt-rod, and loads of beer and home-made burgers which was way awesome.
then i got handed this envelope. open it up to find...
ZOMG!! personalized b-day sketch from art-hero dan paladin!!!!!
my wonderful girlfriend spaceprincess (shari) snuck onto my home pc and aimed with dan paladin himself and asked for this!
i was like in shock, all i could do was mutter something about not believing it and holding it in my hands. this is a big change from my usual self because for those of you that don't know me personally i RARELY shut up. beer has been known to amplify this trait.
then after that i get this tube, i'm so shocked from the first gift i had no idea what it could be. so it gets mushy here, but i unroll this poster out of the tube...
apparently my closest pals here in van got a chain email about this idea (started by tetro) about making me a poster that had everyone's favorite picture of mine on it. it's printed fuck off huge and it was one of the most overwhelming presents i've ever gotten in my whole life.
i'm really lucky to have pals like these. and as i stared at the poster and thought about all the work people did to get this my way i was seriously speechless, it was surreal and super awesome.
i get this awesome injection of support from you crazy cats here and my crazy cats within a cab ride all around me, mad mad loves to everyone!
thanks so much!
Happy B!!
John
Just so you guys know, this idea made my face orgasm.
