oh man, I was so excited to see this.. I've been waiting for ages, so i go to the cinema today, sit down, it's packed.. but they can't show the movie because the projector broke or something..
I thought the movie was great, not amazing by any means. The CGI was very well done, seamless, and the sound was great. It was almost 2 movies though, the doco beginning, then the twist with almost non-stop action till the end. The action was better than transformers, and the movie really draws in the audience, lots of cheering from people in the crowd, you'll be rooting the main characters on.
My favorite movie of the summer easily, hope it does well. AMC only had it playing on one screen but it almost sold out.
The movie was really damn good, like ZacD says, the two halves feel very different. Brilliant effects, the aliens were done really well. A top notch sci fi action movie, felt very well paced, great cast, some damn entertaining action, someone mentioned earlier that the trailer reminded them of Half Life 2...couldn't agree more, I felt like the main character was Gordon Freeman done right!
Best film I've seen in a long time. Just like Zac said, the movie was kind of cut in two, which for me was a tad jarring. Other than that I loved everything about this film.
I was shocked to see how violent it was! Body parts flying everywhere in a mist of blood. Needless to say the girlfriend did not enjoy it as much as I.
my girl got prescreen tickets for wednesday, forgot to tell me, and we stayed home and watched ghostbusters instead. found the tickets this morning and then pooped myself. we'll see it next week.
Got my tickets! I got to say I'm pretty psyched. I try to keep my expectations from getting too high as sometimes hype can ruin a decent movie, but it looks really good.

The idea behind the movie seems obvious, but the plot has a great twist I've heard that you wont see coming, so we'll see.
This has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it by chance in a bar some years ago.
Very chuffed that Peter Jackson grabbed it by the balls and stuffed money into Neill Blomkamp.
Can't wait!

it was a lot better than i thought it was going to be. I thought it was focus more about the racial aspects with the scifi being the undertone.
it wasnt, go see it. they did a really good job not telling the story in the preview.
