EPHERE - Scene Manager?

Hey

Would anyone happen to have ephere scene manager for Max 8? Love the little guy, but new job has me using an older version of max and I can't seem to find the plugin for anything below 9 now.

Why shuldnt that work on a lower version then 9? have you try to install it?

it uses dotNet and that was introduced in max9,- so no it wont work with max 8 or older stuff.

Yeah; so there was no version of it before max 9? Man that is dissapointing.

I think it only worked in 9, when 2008 rolled out the script broke again. Not sure if the author ever got it working again?

You might want to try the Maya-esk Outliner script for Max.

It tends to chug with heavy scenes but it is pretty nice.

Thanks vig, yeah I found a working version of scene manager for 2008-9 somewhere, at least it was working last time i used it a month ago.

Really I never thought I'd be back in 8, I'm not even sure if I've used 8 actually, I think I started on 9, lol.

edit: bah now all I can find is outliner 1.61 which is 9.0+ anyone have an older version ? :P

Emailed the guy who created outliner, said it was always only for 9+, which I guess means I never worked out 8.

Anyway, will have to make due without it and the other 100 awesome things that made me half competant in max, lol.

Ahh man that sucks... It would be pretty rough going back.

Good luck with that, hopefully you'll be back in the land of the up-to-date soon. Only to find all the cool scripts you dug up for 8 don't work in the latest versions =P

its the same with 2008 (like 9) where the version itself might not look like it introduced many new things but meanwhile they added lots of important and better stuff on the maxscript side.
There are some functions I almost cant work without that are not available for max9 or below and it sucks because I think that max9 is still an important version.

Yeh I mean it would be pretty wishful thinking but too bad there wasn't like some sort of back support for a kind of script emulator or something to bridge all script versions.
