cool! maybe focus on exagerrating the gun now? if that's her primary weapon it should probably stand out as much as the spys revolver, was also thinking the other night that shock paddles might make a nice melee weapon (or resurrect dead teammates before the respawn timer ticks down?). Also check out illustrations of female faces from the period valve were referencing, elastigirl is good ref too, bit more petite about the nose, slightly larger eyes maybe
a defibrillator...INTERESTING!
It'd be like the old school days of Battlefield Desert Combat and BF2 with the Medic, shocking the hell outta people you were likely to get close to. I like it!
Yes it is indeed time for the gun and I'll rework the face some. However, I want her glasses/hair to hide her eyes like the Soldier's helmet. Only once in a while you get a glimpse at them.
Thanks again for the input kite, much appreciated!
I cant believe I missed this thread up till now. Your work is awesome - its really starting to feel like she would fit right in tf2. I have no comments for the character, but when I think "battle nurse" only 3 words come to mind: Rectal Thermometer Gun. I think Im twisted tho *shrug*
Slow progress on this lady as of late due to the fact that I welcomed my son into this world on Friday.
His name is Soloman and he sleeps all day all the while filling his swaddler with poo. good times.
Now back to BIZNIZZ, i roughed out a decent basemesh of sorts to start for the body. After looking at the ingame models for TF2, alot of the normal mapping is subtle and the actual mesh itself holds mostly all the detail. So I'm going old school and modeling all of the bits and pieces and planning on keeping the tri count around 10 to 15k. Here she goes for now, I'll be adding all the goods in the next coming days.
I plan on only doing normals on the cloth of of her outfit. Everything else is modeled.
C&C as always PC'ers
Great start so far. Structure, poly flow, and topology is all top notch.
My only crit would be, maybe try balancing out the top half a little more with the bottom half. Her thighs seem exaggerated, which is fine, but since this is the case it probably wouldn't hurt to exaggerate the chest area to create a more 'hour glass' figure.
Congrats on the Mini polycounter entering this world!
Everything looks good and I dig the over all shape and design! only one thing pops out at me.
There looks like there is a straight line from her waist to her hip and that could be a style choice but I'd round out the bottom part so it does not make such an angle... But that could be all moot since you are going to model out a nice nurses uniform.
First and foremost congrats about the birth of your Son. secondly: D (Hair) because it does her Justice and I've thought about and compared her to the other charcters and it makes her fit in with them best. H (Healing gun) because it looks most fitting to the TF2 theme.
updayt.
it's been a while but i'm still slowly chuggin awai at this.
Mini-dookie is quite the handful, but I get what i can done betwixt roaming about Middle Earth and changing poopies.
head is hardcore WIP atm.
probably not gonna do the hairstyle I made the final concept with, leaning towards..style K
C & C and MOAR similac/sleep/guinness plx. in that order.
Coming along very nicely. Frankly I think the hair style in that first silhouette you posted reads the best out of any you've applied to this character while fitting the spytech era vibe.
this is lookin nice, remins me i need to finish my tf2 freeman model someday. oh the pics on the first page,, the lil rings on the needles, thats what you put your fingers thru to hold htem
CURRENT HEAD:
This is what i have so far. But i feel its not toon enough yet, any suggestions as to how to toon it up? Maybe if i take a few days then come back to it, i can make the correct adjustments.
C&C always welcome
hmmm...something's not right just yet. maybe it'll all piece together once i finish the head eh?
all tf2 characters have hanging shoulders, while yours has pushed up shoulders (due to the clothing but yet it breaks sillouete. also i'd go with more defined face attributes (in the medic original version it has pretty exageratted jaw bones and defining lines around and above the mouth. - try finding attributes in the face you can overexpose like high jaw bones)
okai.
here's where I'm at now.
I made hair K and went with a semi-Sally Jupiter a la Watchmen mix.
I still need to make the teeth and uvula and inner mouth workings.
she stands at 8228 tris and I have yet to optimize.
C&C PLOX
Next step is Roadkill, then Zedbrush the outfit for a few wrinkles here and there, texchore, and then into Source! JOY!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with Garth Agarwen in Lord of the Rings Online.
P.S. I still feel the face isn't toon enough, maybe once I slap some texchores on there things'll change. Only time will tell and dead men tell no tales because they can't tell time, because they're dead.

Yeah! And when she hits enemies from behind, she gets mini crits!

it's perfect, this guy knows his asses.

you need a bit more polys on the face if you want the smoothing to be.. smooth
just optimice the body, then check ingame and tweak the face then.
looks promising
