Anyone know of a .obj Thumbnail viewer? Like if u have 200 obj files in a folder and u want to scroll through them like images? I know it has to exist somewhere.....or do OBJ files not hold image data.....i dunno.
breakneck: heh, well a JPG or TGA is just a bunch of pixels (numbers) ... you can preview those, right?
Previewing is just a matter of loading up the file and displaying it in some simple fashion. Doesn't matter what format it is.
There was an app a while back called 3D Photo Browser which supported a lot of 3D formats including OBJ, dunno if it's still around but if it is you'd probably have to spend a bit of money on it.
Same applies to, what was it, Deep Exploration from Right Hemisphere? Could have got bought out by someone? Might still exist too.
I think someone mentioned XnView thumbnailing obj or some other popular format? Might be worth looking into. I know Autodesk made a Quicktime FBX preview plug-in.
Also level tools for Maya uses a library/thumbnail system to display objs, might be handy. There's probably something similar for Max. But sounds like the point is to not load up a 3D app?
