Awesome. You totally took the idea I have been mulling over as far as a megaman redesign But I Give ya about a billion kudos because I couldnt have done it better! NOICELY Done!
I've been so busy with finalizing class material, I haven't had much time to put into working on this dude!
I did have a chance to go through and make bakes (AO, disp, cavity) though. Slapped it on the face, and took a look at it int he class viewport shader (pic below).
So get this... I still have one more week's worth of lesson content to make. However, so far I've made FORTY narrated videos, averaging 10 mins in length, and have typed THIRTY pages of reading material.. not to mention the slew of images thrown in with the lessons..
I noticed you modeled the top lip detached from the bottom, I'd assume this would be so you can see gums/teeth/tongue in a game environment.
Previously I would usually model the characters mouth welded shut, but now it occurs to me that this would be a silly thing to do as facial animation is ever-present in today's games.
Your work really is a wake-up call to the quality out there that I must contend with to obtain a position in the industry. Though I have a year until uni and perhaps even four more after that, I really want to do all I can while I'm reasonably young.
Is this hand painted using the same work flow as the tutorial on your site?

Hell yeah it's real! I have a copy. Looking at that box and thinking about how terrible the art was is one of my earliest memories as a child. No joke! Even as a 4 year old I knew it was bad.
I quite clearly remember the box now that I've seen it again. I remember renting it as a child hahaha good god. I probably thought it looked awesome when I was a kid though. I DO specifically remember thinking that the box art looked NOTHING like the game though, and that the dude looked absolutely nothing like mega man

Nah, typically there was one guy doing the programming, the promotion, and off course the packaging!
why is there a song about not being able to defeat a megaman 2 boss, its like the easist megaman game.
my vote for megaman 2 music is all the music in minibosses megaman 2 song.

I considered linking the Protomen, especially considering they just released their second CD. For those of you who don't know, the Protomen is a band who has developed a rock opera based on the mega-verse.
