Very cool, loving the crazy bone wings!
I'd say play around with his silhouette a bit first though, in smaller thumbs, cause I'm not sure that the silhouette is doing enough for him at this point.
nice sketch, cool idea. my crit would be to unify the design IE: give him dragon feet and possibly shorten the neck, the long lenky neck is too diff compared to the body and head
Thanks for the crits, they were very helpful, keep them coming! I lengthened the legs and made them less cow like. also lengthened the tail to balance out the long neck. then changed up the abdomen.
Looking good my friend, it seems to me like the feet need to have sharp claws, as everything else has sharp aspects to there design. Just feels odd that the toes are kinda elephant in feel. Looking forward to what you do with this one, and not sure if the wings/spider legs need to be fleshed out more ( ie: fleshy torn wings )
Badass looking feller! I feel his neck could be a lot thicker though, but I like the rest of it His toes and tail look like good candidates for razor tips like on his hands.
Nice looking head struve, looks really grisly like he was skinned alive or something. So badass!
I do have one crit on the design of the teeth though, specifically the flat molars. Those things are made for chewing nuts and leaves, and send out signals to viewer that he's not quite so menacing.
cool stuff man. just a few notes though. The only thing that bothers me is I don't see enough thick to thin shapes . The arms feel like they are basically the same thickness all the way through which kinda makes them not fit if you look at the head's thick to thin. also the tail has some thick to thin but the transition is odd. If you look at lizard tails you can see a smooth transition from thick to thin. Other then those few things its looking cool man.
Badass! Such nice renders, awesome idea, really well done! Don't forget about the viewport grab or render from engine, make sure to leave enough time to get some nice effects without SSS. I don't think it will be too hard for you, its easily strong enough without it.
Looking real nice. That render makes it look like a real life sculpture/maquette. Sorta reminds me of the Bahamut summon monster from Final Fantasy. Do you have the Polycount logo somewhere on him yet?
These renders are done with Mental Ray, all you have to do is throw a daylight in there and fiddle with it for a few hours, haha. I've got an emmisive map on his horns and fingers, but i still had to adjust some levels in PS to help the glow. i hope to get that all working right on the lowpoly. I wanted it to look like he'd melt everything he touches.

Good luck!

i got a chance to start sculpting tonight and fulled around with color a bit.
Kind of reminds me of a final fantasy summons dragon.
Think I'm going to really like this guy

I love the power of this skill here, the way the jaw curves upwards-

And here's a bat skull. Not quite the meat eater, but the way the teeth get gradually more sharp as they approach the front of the mouth is pretty neat.

Can't wait for the next update!
I'm still fooling with some colors here.
(I love mudbox)
keep goin!
What a nice render! The sculpt is cool too.
Renders smell a bit like Vray, right?
