Got some quick sketches scribbled out in between class.
The first sketch caught my interest so I ran with it. He's a claricon with a specialty for banishing and trapping demons. The bird cage is the magic artifact he uses to trap the demon's spirit.
Birdcage man still needs some work. I think his proportions are still too normal, a pose and expression would probably help sell the character too. The cage design is pretty simple at the moment, I'll try to post so ideas on that tomorrow.
Any thoughts?

I don't know if you were planning on it, but if the birdcage was made out of wood or like bamboo, I think it would give it a more organic/hand made feel and fit his character more.
Also, it occurred to me that maybe he could have a summon that is a fairly large bird, maybe even bigger than him, that grabs the soul and puts it in the cage once the enemy has been vanquished.
Here's a suggestion for his silhouette:
He looks like he could do with some really exaggerated proportions, so I think really extending his body so its very thin and long would be cool. Then he'd have the big native headpiece, which would add interest to the silhouette. Also, with the cage in one hand beside him, it would have nice negative space from his thin body to the large cage he's holding.
Just a thought, still early in the process, anything is worth a go!
Good luck
Nuclearwarrior- What's up! Started on your DW stuff yet? I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm definitely going to put the summon idea into the next sketch. I was thinking maybe like a phantom bird made out of all the souls or something.
jesse moody- Still sketching stuff out, but doesn't feel like I've gone off the wall yet lol. I came up with this raccoon robot scout, just to try something different. I've never tried to make a robot character before so it was a fun sketch.
More coming soon
It would be cool if you integrated some of those native American motifs with this fox/cat/raccoon bot, the way I'm seeing it right now.
In the meantime, here's some new ideas. Top one is a new take on the bird cage guy and the second is a norm assassin who uses little birds to scout for her. The artifact is her giant arced blade.
good silhouette though kyler.
I'm trying to get an interesting silhouette, while keeping her athletic/acrobatic build. I'll also be looking at adding a big weapon. Giant crossbow maybe? Anyway, more updates soon!
Colors aren't final, just wanted to give it a little life
Crits and comments always welcome!
I was wondering what the green blades on her forearm were for. They look cool, but I'm not sure of the purpose.
It occurred to me another set of "gear" she could have is grenades. Might seem odd, but it might be something she could toss into a demon lord's mouth, or ear, or possibly an important exhaust pipe in a large robot.
Also, maybe a reason to give her a full body suit would be so she could auto-camouflage. Like, she could turn into the surface she is next to (like Solid Snakes outfit in MG4) so that she could not be detected as easily by the demon lord/monster she is climbing on.
Just some ideas. Keep it up.
