I think I should be presenting my work a bit more professional for this competition. I see other people doing this so I'm going to do the same, it's a good habit to get into anyways.
Looks interesting, he looks like he could fold himself up into a live volcano looking thing in his off time
I find myself looking at his legs the most though, they're by far the most eye-catching thing in your drawing at the moment. Can't wait for the big reveal of the bust area.
Ok I've got the Lower arm design posted below. Here's the upper arms. I'll get more into the side profile and indepth mechanics later, there's a lot more to the arms (and the whole body design, for that matter) than you can see on the outside. hint hint...
I already asked this in the Q & A's thread to DWIV but got no response.
I'm wondering about the rules and restrictions to the inborn power that Demon Lords possess. The rules state that Demon Lords can not use magic, yet as I read through the abilities of manipulation through their power they do in fact use magic... Just as long as the magic consists of the specific power the Demon Lord uses... Correct?

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
that sounds about right to me. As far as I can tell demon lords do have magic but it is built into thier character and has to be of the elements described in the DwIV brief "(Fire/lava or Ice/cold or Death/Darkness)" not just any magic
Fightpunch: Thanks, I still have intentions to make various changes for every body part. In the end I want everyone to choose which is better before I start a concept on the final action pose. Just getting a basic overall idea down before options become available and things start changing around like Mr. Potato Head parts.
Ged: Thanks for the feed back. It's nice to know any kind of fire manipulation is available to me as far as attack/defense in concerned.
Notebookguy: Thanks. I don't know about completely original but it seems to be working out well for a final action shot.
Belltann: I thought about and I agree but the point of interest was almost non existent. I needed to add something to catch everyone's attention, which eventually came to the 6 large legs he creeps around on. Plus they're cool cause they can bash the shit out of things
Gamewiz / AimBiz / War Noodle / Sir Gimp / 3abden: Thanks for the comments, it's fuel to the flame.
Snowfly: Over all I kind of wanted to design a organic character that could open up and change almost entirely (like a transformer). I like how his lava smashers are coming out. Volcano?... Almost
r4ptur3: I'm keeping the head so show for later. It's not like the head design is this unbelievable design, it's just something I want to hold back for another week or two....same goes with the secret in the belly
Spug: Yea the belly I'm holding back.... same with his head design. It should turn out nicely I just hope what I'm designing to go inside the belly wont surpass rules and regulations.
ChaosEidolon: Me? Tricks? Never!
zasraneTTs: Yea, low to the upper seems to be working alright at the moment but who knows anything can change at this point.
Reference I'm looking into for the lower arms. Something that can lead towards a nice design flow based upon throwing/launching objects, amongst other wonderful attacks and defenses.
I revised the overall concept... It's busy all around but that's just from the detail and sloppy sketching, it works though. I'm going to go with this and start a turnaround tomorrow.
I need to hurry up and start making plans for the final concept/action pose.
well wicked J, you know how to really milk the audience not showing the face and all. Looks amazing though! the detail is riduculous. There is a side of me that says its to busy though... then again, it depends on if you are doing 2D or 3D. I think for 2D it will be fine... 3D on the other hand might just be to much going on.
Alright, here are views of the head I was putting together. I still need to post a view of her bone guard that covers most of the face. Hope you like it, crits please
indian_boy: Hmm, after I read you comment I looked around and found Spacemonkeys entry in the DW2 archive. I could see some similarities but nothing to similar to want to change the face... Still it makes me think about it. I'll see if I can move some things around but if it isn't working out I'll just leave it alone. Thanks for the info...
r4ptur3: Well I posted it, let me know what you think.
WarNoodle: Yea, I finally posted it. I figured it's not that big of a deal to keep secret for as long as I did, plus it just gets annoying after a while, lol. The 3D might be a mess but who knows, I might model it after the war and see how it comes along.
woods: TaDa!!! (is that how you spell that?)
Aravindan: As they say alot here, Cheers!
Tumerboy: Thank you for the info on the name of the sport I was thinking of.
Everybody: Thank you
Here's another...
The large mouth I concepted on the 16th, just added detail this time :P
I didn't know if I wanted to give my Demon Lord a pet but I thought of something that could be usful if executed properly. This is what I was keeping inside the undercarraige. He/She doesn't look like much now but I'll illustrate something that looks a bit more convincing and post by midday today. This should be fun to do.
I want the pet to have the ability to multiply it's heads and arms etc. I think this is doable since the pet is basicaly a lava spirit, it doesn't have any particular shape it can be classified as (Like an amoebian in a way). Where ever the pet goes, there the lava flows
If someone sees a rule or regulation I over looked please let me know. Otherwise this pet has the green light... I hope
Some very nice drawings in here, Wicked. I like the protective bone wrap on the head design, but think it might be obscuring the cool mouth/jawline of the actual creature. My preference would be for the bottom part of the bone wrap (3 prongs) to be removed - just my opinion though!
Please forgive my lack of posts for the last number of days. I've been really digging into concepting the final layout.
Stinger88: A trebucet sounds more destructive but the value of time left is wearing thin to start changing things. It would seem to be a bit too mechanical in a way. I dunno, it is a good idea though...
imb3nt: Fuel to the flame, thanks!
Diwan: Thank you!
foreverendering: I see what you are saying and the way I presented the bone wrap would seem to keep the mouth from opening and closing. Without showing a post just imagine the bone wrap like a closed fist clenched around a small ball (ball being the head). The bone wrap would fan out like a closed fist opening. I'llpost a concept of this soon.
Here's a final layout of my action pose. I've been painting this concept for a number of days now but I'm not going to post until the beginning of the month.
My four and a half year old daughter saw me looking at this and we had this short conversation: Dad why are you looking at that evil thing?
Me: Because it's cool looking. Don't you think it looks cool? No, I think it looks scary.
I'd take it as a complement :P I can't wait to see the painting.

You've got indeed a very cool drawning.
Damn it I wanted that one
As for a throwing arm thing, (if you're still doing it)...Hows about some kind of Flesh and bone Trebucet of some kind..Just a thought.
Great work so far
