Hello everyone
I am kinda new around these forums so if this topic has been covered in the past please feel free to close it if need be.
At the moment I am aware of next gen and current gen techniques but I am still learning and I am very hazy on the major workflow differences between the two.
Also with alot of compaines now wanting to stretch the life cycles of game consoles and therefore the technology that is in them.If I was to create a portfoilo should it mainly consist of next gen assets or should I try to incorporate current gen in there as well.
I am just hoping as to whether anyone could give me some better insight into the two.

Those gens are one and the same at the moment. We are smack bang in the middle of the current gen.
Last-gen techniques are still useful for less powerful systems, such as the Wii and mobile platforms. Everything else is current-gen.
Yeah, Glib is right. I think it is a handy term to have at the beggining for a new round of consoles, but gets redundant after that.
you shoudl always try to do AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE with AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE no matter if you make a game for xbox 1080 or the commodore 64.
