If you have issues with the warm screen of the cintiq, try out one of these- http://www.smudgeguard.com/
Keeps my hand sweat from gettin all stuck to the screen. Plus they make you look like you're part of some secret dance group.
SmudgeGuard rocks! A must have. Especially for us south paws
Just go to a local grocery/drug store and get a pair of cheap cotton gloves. The crap that costs like 99c. Cut out the fingers (except the pinky) and you're good to go.
Hi! congrats on the purchase.
Smudgeguards are cool! If you have large hands you might have to cut off the tip of the pinky to prevent an annoying stretchy feeling. But besides that yeah it works well and looks great too
I haven't had much problem with the heating thing. It does tend to get a bit hot, but honestly, if your room as good aeration its no problem, The only downfall for the cintiq for me, is that im probably BLIND by now, I find i like to be to fucking close to the screen while painting or sculpting.

Yeah and sweat your hand off.
I highly recommend smudgeguard for pros. it makes your hand glide.
I have used mine every day for over a year and it is still going stromg.
I was looking into a tablet myself but dont think spending 1000 for a cintiq is a good idea as ive never used a tablet before basically i want to use it to make 2d concepts/ enviroment art for concepting what wacom product would you guys suggest for a noobie like me.

Don't get a 4x6... they're useless. The 6x8s are a good size, intuos3 would be a good pick (~$300). Check craigslist, sometimes you can find a deal (ie. there's a 9x12 for $350 up right now that you could probably talk down to $300).
I've owned 3 Cintiqs. The original 21UX Cintiq which I sold after a few months of use due to the crappy contrast ratio(200:1). Not great for texture work. Then I bought the second model 21UX which was better, sold that one after a few months for money to build a new PC. I then bought the Cintiq 12" 1024x768, but the screen rez was killing me and I only used it for very small detail work like scratches and wrinkles. In the end, I sold them all and realized I was just not a "Cintiq" kind of artist. I've actually gotten used to the regular tablet now and can almost do fine details with it, albiet not as quickly.
If you have to buy one of them, I recommend shelling out the cash for the 21UX. You won't be squinting your eyes so much as B1II mentioned. It probably caused some permanent damage to my old guy's eyes.

I would also recommend something like this :

I dont know if the 15incher heats up, but the 21s do. A desk tower fan aimed at it keeps it cool.
I use a paper under my hand when i'm penciling, it's the cheapest solution.
:P
