Mudbox going crazy

This keeps happening to me. I'll be working on this:


And all of a sudden, I'll get this:


Seems to happen no matter which tool I'm using. If I hit undo, it goes back to normal, but as soon as I touch the model it happens again.

Closing and re-opening mudbox seems to fix the problem, at least for a while. But I'd rather not have to deal with it, obviously. Is this a graphics card problem or something?

what version of mudbox are you using? what scale is your character in relation to the default mesh's that come with mud?

Mudbox 2009, and I'd say about 10 times bigger than the default meshes

well it may be the scale...i know people have had similar issues due to scale ( although I think its normally if the mesh is too small ).

2009 = very buggy.

While very rare, I sometimes have that problem in Zbrush if I brush over a triangle or pent.
