Another oddly named post apocalyptic car in the works. I started making my actual car (solstice gxp) with some different parts (so far - rotors/wheels/tires are different) and am going to give it some of that post apoc flare (bolted armor plating, machine guns, missile launchers, etc.)
It's coming along, slower than I hoped due to things coming up, but I am still working on it when I get time. Figured I'd post a thread for it's progress just to keep it going.
So far:
Still a lot in progress, especially tweaking and finishing up the interior bits, but I'll have to get back to it later.
More goodness coming soon!

Please post some wires of the low cage when you get a chance.
Ro-Sham-Bo: Nope I don't mind, I actually decided to make a tutorial for this finally since the question keeps coming up about the rendering

I'll be watching your progress here for sure.
Kevin - Thanks! They definitely have their challenges, and there are still a few things I need to go back and clean up when I do another pass on the interior, but I'm happy with how far it's gotten so far.
So it's been a while since I've gotten a chance to come back to this with changing jobs and Dominance war, but I jumped back on this the other day and am starting progress on building an engine for this.
Started doing the front end but decided to hold off on cleaning it up and proceeding with the body until I get the engine done, so I can build the front and just slide that sucker in
Engine block start.. still TONS to do..
I may end up going insane by the time I finish the entire engine...we'll see
and a fancy render to match!
looks great so far
nice work.
G3L - When I have some more done I'll post some wires
nrek - Thanks! I've thought about doing some exploded views, I think it would be cool and would show off all the work I have/am going to be putting into this. We'll see how it turns out but that's on the to-do list now
OBlastradiusO - Yes, I own the actual car and have a lot of pictures and am able to obviously get more of whatever I need. The engine I'm making is not the 2.0L Ecotec inside the GXP but I am starting off a v8 base and modifying it to fit the uniqueness of this model, I have a lot of reference for the engine work.
SHEPEIRO - Thanks, again I'm glad the renders are reading well. Keeping the insane level of detail will be the challenge, but I'm confident I'll be happy with the results
Sa7an - Subdivision poly modeling
Vig - I think so too, and if I'm not I definitely will be after this hah
EQ - Haha.. no CAD please!
Sandbag - Yes! But I couldn't do this everyday unfortunately, need me some creative vert movement.
ericdigital - Thanks, glad you like it!
HntrLuc - Thanks man
IronHawk - Hey thanks Jesse
youre a sick man!:poly115:
Keep it coming man! This is gonna be one hell of a detail model.

Thanks Jeremy!
Ajax - Thanks man!
vj_box - Thanks! I'm glad you still dig my high poly material I released! These are still being rendered with default scanline renderer, using (different) shellac materials again.. I'll see if I can find the initial setup info for the chrome that I took off one of my old cars and modified or put together something for the other materials.

Definitely a great exercise in "how u model dem shapez"
I'll try to do a cutaway or transparent shot when it's done. I'll post some shots of the mesh sometime this weekend
Looking forward to more.
Seriously though Artem this is wonderful stuff.
Id also like to see some examples of the refs your using, ive tried making a car model that nowhere near as detailed as this, (not quite down to every nut + bolt) but it failed because despite the car I was modeling being my own, which meant I could take a tons of ref images, Even then I just couldn't figure out from them how things fitted and pieced together. In the end I just got frustrated with it.
Amazing work so far as always though mate.
