Dee shooting herself, wow! and then Tai's wife was also a cylon. I kinda thought that starbuck was a cylon since she drew those sun paintings as a kid and adult. Guess my thoughts were correct!
Whoa, is THAT what happened?! It looked to me like
someone else shot Dee. The way I remember it, it seemed the hand/arm that shot her had a sleeve like from a flight suit. Did I totally imagine that?
Also, the Starbuck situation... holy fraking hell, I don't have the slightest clue what's up with that!
Good episode, strong return, but I kinda don't agree with everyone being all upset. Sure, it sucks about the nukes, but they've found a couple of habitable planets before, so it's not like all hope is lost.
ahh yeah, i'll have to look at it again, that'd be awesome if she didn't commit suicide! Oh and Lee, are you saying you still believe Starbuck to be a cylon? If so she's not one of the final 5, since Tai's wife is the 5th.
Just went back and looked, can't see a sleeve, but she was crying several scenes before that once on the planet picking up the jacks, second in the helo, and then telling the Hera she doesn't even know anything is going on, so they seemed to have played it up for the suicide, would be an awesome twist to find out she was murdered though.
It's funny, for some reason I thought the episode prior to this one was the end to it all, and I was content with that. Seemed like such a good ending that left so much to the imagination.
Still, a good episode, though I'm a bit worried it might step into JJ Abrams territory now..

i think everyone's a cylon - people having flashbacks to this planet, the starbuck situation etc... it's gonna turn out that they've all been cylons all along, you damn dirty apes!

On earth they found a way to extend their lives (humans) by these machines that you download into upon death like the cylons use now. Some people were against this because it took away what it meant to be human. So upon downloading into a new body you are now a cylon or whatever.
Many people left earth to form the other colonies and become Human again. The cylons on Earth started to wage war amongst themselves and after nuking the planet left.
So I'm thinking the god they keep talking about is some type of resurrection facility on Earth itself. We shall see.
Also I think the main plot is about how people are always at war and are discriminate against that they don't know or understand and the cylons are us and we are them.
As far as Starbuck goes. I think she is maybe something different. They referred to her as the Harbinger of death. Whatever that means to this story but we shall see. She has definetely died though so this will be interesting to watch as it all unfolds.
I agree.. They are all cylons.... The series as a whole has always been very political in nature and having the ending be cylons killing cylons would definitely be on the same lines as all their other political leanings have been thus far. It shows how stupid it is for a race to continue to kill each other when they are all the same but believe they are different.
i loved the episode, i really liked who the final cylon turned out to be, i'm glad it wasnt one of the major characters, and i believe also that they are all cylons, what a great show. i hate to see it end, but at the same time i'm glad it is just for the story overall to have closure and to go out they way they want it to.
yup, that was the end of season 4, this is the rest of the last 10 episodes that were already in the can, they split it up like season 2 and season 2.5, this is season 4.5 the final 10 episodes.
I don't think everyone's a cylon. That's kind of the easy way out, and if the weird choice for the 5th is any indication (honestly, she's like the last one I suspected) then they won't take it. Plus, Baltar's cylon detector actually worked before, when he detected Boomer but got too scared to report it, so there're definitely detectable biological differences between them. He would've detected everyone in that case.
the problem in that test might be that these are the so called skin jobs and have "downloaded" before. So they may have different genetic make ups then say the ones that haven't died yet.
It's all speculation but everyone being cylons kind of makes sense with where this is all going.

Am I the only one who thinks Edward James Olmos is a frikkin brilliant actor? He scared me a couple of times during this episode. You could really see the pain in his eyes, like it was real!
yeah, but his sappy cry me a river acting lately is getting on my nerves. I know in this day and age a character needs to be fully faceted, but he's been getting too weepy eyed the last few episodes. I want him back to tough as nails.
There are strange circumstances that made everyone say he/she could be a cylon during previous seasons, before the 12 (or are they still 11?) were revealed. Do you remember about Adama seeing and talking to his wife during the yearly recurrence of her death? Balthar seeing and talking to his personal Caprica Six? When Cylons got Balthar on their spaceship explained they got "visions" of the "reality". Starbucks clearly died out and is still around with that mysterious Viper pointing to its own copy sos signal... So Humans should be more than human, but I guess there was another "race" or hierarchical split centuries ago, none of Cylons or Humans know about. They sent the downloaded new Kara. Who can tell? Let's see the end of this exciting story.
Though I have to say, they've done a mighty job of converting me from really liking Gaeta and thinking he's one of the only sane ones, to really hating his guts!

The 12 are special, tracing back to Earth, and the rest are all decendants of the 12!
Also, I watched with a couple people, and some (myself included) say Dee shot herself, and others (idiots) say it was someone else.
But Baltar did develop a working test. He found out about Boomer but then got scared and didn't tell anyone.
Anyways, the cylons were testing bones in that last episode, and they said they were cylon. They clearly know the difference between human and cylon.

This show is great and a lot of people don't realize that and I was one of them up until last seasons season finale. Now i'm hooked.
