Empiresmod is looking for artists

Project Name: Empiresmod.


Brief Description: Empires has been in production for over 4 years, it started out as a modification for BF1942 and was later moved to the Source engine (Half-life, TF2)

In short Empiresmod is a RTS/FPS hybrid. The game features 2 teams fighting each other on the battlefield. One player on both teams takes the role of the commander, where he can build bases and command his team from a top down perspective, the others can play in squads from a first person perspective and can choose from 4 classes to play as. Empiresmod also features vehicular combat where players are able to fully customize their vehicles, they can pick their chassis, weapons, armor and engine.

Currently the game is at version 2.21, many of the primary goals have been reached and has a very rich base of features.

Target Aim: Our main aim is really to take Empiresmod to the next level, we want to extend our player base, improve the quality of assets and make Empiresmod stand out above the rest. It is a game that most of us hold dearly and want to keep developing for.

Technology: Valve's Source engine. C++

Talent Needed:

We are looking for passionate artists that have something of their own to bring to the table, there is already a lot featured in the game, we want to improve the feel of the game and make sure it stays up to date.

We are currently looking for:

-C++ Programmers

-Concept artists
We're looking for someone to redesign all extisting assets and new ones: vehicles, buildings, player models, general illustrative art.

-2d/Texture artists


-3d artists

Really the only thing that we would require from you is that you are able to communicate often and if possible idle in our private IRC channel.

Additional info:

About a year ago the lead designer and coder of Empiresmod stopped developing Empiresmod to start doing paid work. A few of us quickly started re organizing the team structure and gathering new developers from the community. As a new team, we evaluated the current game and set out some base plans to progress the game. A year later, we are still active as ever, with a supporting community that sticked with us through the rough.

Now that we have completed some of our main goals as a new team, we can start thinking about expanding our team and making Empiresmod an even greater game.
I would think that Empiresmod is a great oppurtunity for all developers to join and expand their portfolio, we are a passionate and active team that communicate daily on IRC and would love to have more passionate people on board!
