We weren't , and are still not, allowed to show the blood and gore due to a certain movie company not wanting parents to get the wrong idea about the movie. Luckily some copies were incorrectly sold over the weekend and there are a few fan reviews popping up.
Needless to say it's been a pretty frustrating experience dealing with this company, in my oppinion...
That explains that, cuz I kept hearing "There's lots of blood and gore" but I haven't seen anything! That review though, showed the good stuff!
I feel bad for all those troopers that have to fight Wolverine! Damn, why not just run when he's invincible??
So basically it's a Wolverine game, with God of War/Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden style gameplay? Glad to hear it's a solid 10 hours, and of course, my hats off to the artists at Raven for the eye candy. Definitely gonna check it out!!!
Great work guys. Reminded me so much of a linear Prototype with better art budgets. You've even got a lot of simlar moves. That slo-mo on the uppercut before you throw the right hook to launch the guy is almost frame-for-frame the same. It's amazing how similar your control scheme is to Proto's as well. Acti enforcing some similarities maybe?
Great demo, and the character plays a lot like I'd imagined from the comics. The kill on the helicopter pilot was fucking batshit crazy. Only negative I really had was the sheer number of moves and combos - my technique is largely mashing the X button, so the extra moves are wasted on me
Yea also caught Moody with his pants down the first time MSN didnt lie to me and tell me he was playing a xbox 360 game he actually was and it was this one .
Got home at like midnight last night and had to give it a good hour or so of play time.
Unlocked the sexy Brown and Yellow wolverine costume. It's so awesome how you have to actually fight another wolverine in that costume to unlock it. So much cooler then just giving it to you!
What a bloody boring review; didn't know we were spoiled by the likes of gametrailers and zeropunctuation. I'd say he'll regret using superglue, the sado.I also disagree with him on the real-time damage; what did he expect? The camera is too far away (was afraid of this, and said so already; the preview screens for this were just false advertising.) When are studios going to start directing the camera in games?? The scripted stuff is quite good, and there is some good action, but this is a videogame! Nice shader work on Wolverine though.
The HUD look out of place, like it should be in a sports game or something. The lunge ability looks cool; does he scrape his claws along the ground to slow himself down as he lands? Nice touch. There are some cool finishing moves, like when he kicks the mercenary away. The upgrade system looks cool too, and looks like it actually has depth and gives the player more control.
Although the character does just snaps around and looks weightless when he is running; this was off-putting in the PS2 LOTR EA games, these days...
Dunno why he made such a point of the environments lacking, from what I saw there are a few different locales, and there was some nice lighting around. lol at the water thing though.
My biggest problem with this is, it looks like a cut and paste movie tie-in solely made to generate money; but this was in production long before the movie was even written. And yet I couldn't have told the difference if I didn't know beforehand.
Loved the Blur cinematic though. Those guys sure pump through the polys.
finished it earlier, good game, but i just don't see any replay in it unless there's something really fun as a reward for beating hard or the challenge room.
hope you guys get to do the days of future past sequel that was teased at the end
i picked up the uncaged edition for the special rooms, but how do i actually acess them? its not under the bonus tab on the main menu. all i have there is the challenges for the alt costumes. anyone know?
oh i pre-ordered at gamestop like a month ago. i didnt get a code or anything, just a case that says Uncaged below the main title. this is after waiting outside the store for 40 minutes cause the guys inside were playing grab-ass and opened late. should i go back and ask for a code?
I played the demo today, it was sick man! Couldn't play it on "Hard" but...Normal was too easy, hopefully hard is well...hard and hopefully you unlock an even harder level. The environments were fucking awesome, wolverin looked fucking awesome..it might of been lack of HD tv, but the enemies kept blending in too much with the environments...and those fucking random monkeys that would run by kept freaking me out!
I have a question about wolverine...in the opening cinematic, if he got his head blown completely off....would a new head just grow out of his neck? LOL that'd be so gnarly to watch!
Ok, that makes sense, lol. Is it the same case for arms and legs? Like what if he got his arms cut off at a joint? Lol...I'm done, sick game though! I kinda wish Spawn was part of marvel just so they could make a movie that was good! I Spawn.
Will definately be picking this up, despite reviews being lackluster I can remember tonnes of games that I adored only averaging out a 7/10.. So fuck 'em. All the footage I've seen so far minus the weightless physics screams awesome to me.
Finally getting some more time tonight to play. So much fun. Sure there is some repetitiveness to it but come on when you slice dudes apart and the quick kills. OMFG the quick kills. Putting a shotgun under a dudes chin...PURE WIN!!!
I played the DS version yesterday and was quite disappointed. The level design is linear as fuck and uninspired. But what I hated the most is that you need to hit each enemy 5 or 6 times to defeat them, even the weakest ones. Sometimes you even have to handle like 10 or more in a row... it gets very tedious and repetitive rather quickly.
That's why the PC, 360, and PS3 versions are called the "uncaged edition"... Because they don't suck, like the rest of the SKU's. Raven only made those, so there's no guarantee of awesomeness for the others.
First of all you are playing the DS version. What do you expect? LOL
It's not really hard to make a fun side-scroller game so I thought I'd give it a try. But when you increase gameplay time by placing more of the same enemies and making them extra strong instead of adding more content then it's really frustrating.

it's good. Also, Cojax's avatar looks just like him. True story.
Truely a lot of fun. Having a blast playing through hacking and slashing and using the awesome finishers.
Can't wait to see what others think.

I don't know what your talking about. That Cojaxx has two X's
Hmmm a quick look at your profile here at polycount I found this.

Far far more positive review here, and it shows the game in a much better light ( I actually want to play it after seeing it)
