Tim Burton remakes '9'

Tim Burton has directed a new CG movie based loosely on Shane Acker's short '9'. Seems like kind of a cross between Oddworld and Little Big Planet.

I'm really liking the look of the new film, although it looks to have forgone the simple charm of the original. Roll on next September.

i'm liking the use of Coheed & Cambria, unfortunately this computer's quicktime seems to be broken in Firefox, so I only get the sound track and the video is just a flat green colour all the way through

I have goosebumps that looks awesome! I'm am happy to see that Shane Acker is the director of this one, considering he did the original. With Tim Burton as producer, it should be really fantastic.

i don't like how they made everything... softer. more claymation-esque. I liked the original's look and feel much better.

I *love* the original, loved it ever since I discovered it on io9. I like the fact that Shane Acker is still doing this and it hasn't been abducted by someone else, but I'm not a hundred percent sure about the choices in voice acting. Although Elijah Wood has proven himself somewhat with Spyro, I loved the fact that the original has no dialogue whatsoever.

But I am psyched as hell for this, so I don't care.

Looks cool. I wonder if it's (reletively) finished and the big hollywood producers needed a gimmick so they bumped the release day to 9-9-09.

just watched the short, really cool. the new film looks pretty snazzy as well, ill have to keep my eyes open for more on it.

The short looks awesome, the trailer looks awesome. I'm definitely checking this out. I really like how the short had no dialogue though, I hope they keep the talking to a minimum in the movie.
