did some minor 3d work on this (the zombie cat) and was a consultant for the animated parts.
kite (andy nisbet) did some awesome 3d sculpts for this as well, unfortunately the cell shading combined with the high contrast lighting really don't do them justice, hopefully he will pimp them!!!
the art direction is russian documentary mixed with animated propaganda posters..
i generally hate cell shading, but i think it works with the directors vision.
its super long, is like a 9 min song... not on the computer i used for the 3d stuff, when i get to it i will post some screen grabs of the models..

And I agree with Rolling Stone. Best Vid since One, and that's saying a LOT because Metallica has released some pretty stellar videos over the years.
Very much reminds me of that Pearl Jam Video: Do The Evolution (Aweful song with an AMAZING video).
