Got hired today at BioWare-Austin as an Environment Artist to work on the upcoming Star Wars MMO. Seems like a great studio from my tour through. Im pretty excited. I always wanted to work on a MMO.
That will change, real fast :P
You'll have a great time and learn lots... you have some really great people working above and alongside you. When do you start?
Thanks all. I start monday. As for not enjoying working on MMO's, ive spent the last 4 years stocking grocerys and the like. I doubt the suckage will even come close to that. I just generally enjoy making games.

Oh, you will love making games- I just mean, making an MMO, fraught with problems.
I won't be there next week, so congrats again and welcome!
The Portfolio I showed was far from polished as it was created at the last minute due to time constraints on the position. What impressed them most was my involvement in the MOD community and working on team related projects such as a custom art TF2map, along with an UT3 MOD, ect as I was told this shows I have a passion for games highly regarded in the Industry.
I have also, as demonstrated on my portfolio, everything from sci-fi, medieval, tropical, hand painted, and photo realistic as well as being fluent and self taught in a variety of game engines which displays my flexibility and ability to learn. These things are what i was told made me stand out from the other canidates.
This is what I gave them. Far from polished, but eh, I got the job!
