Been waiting for something like this since ... forever
http://www.dgp.toronto.edu/~shbae/ilovesketch.htm
I remember when I first saw screenshots of 3D apps like Alias Studio I thought it would work like that. (obviously didnt hehe). Now it seems like it's about to be true! 3D sketching YAY!
Now if only there was a demo somewhere...

If it's anything I learned in my first year in the Film/tv industry, there is a need/demand for rapid prototyping and pre-viz. It's seems like a handy app in bringing what could be 2D concepts into 3D, being able to see more than just a planer view. Being able to augment the sketch on the fly. (especially for concept artists who build ortho's for the modelers and they could never quite match up to the perspective sketch)
Of course I don't think this could replace thumb nailing, where as the art director goes around picking and choosing your designs you sketched out in a few min. Where as it looks like it too a few mins to do 1 sketch.
If you could export those nurbs curves in the future it would be handy to have them as guides. Since you know that the concept is sound in 3D, all you would hafta do is model around those guides, possible cutting down on the time to tweak a model after it's built from orthos.
Looks like a lot of fun... once you have figured out how to use all that gestures.
Also could work wonders for deforming meshes; You have your mesh, create the curve of the distortion which is editable on the fly.
With a few minutes of nurbs surfacing it would be the best template ever for modelling polygonal meshes.
Looking forward to a demo.
This will be awesome for 3d pipelines, can't wait to get my hands on it and can't wait to see how far you guys can push the art with it!
We're all jizzing over it, imagine what vehicle designers and architects will do...!
