Unsure whether I'll buy this game or not.
I was just going to ask, has anyone heard about the CE pre-order beta access. Seems like it's not going to last very long.

One of the big reasons that I pre-ordered the game was because of the delays. It was reassuring to see that Mythic agreed with the community that it wasn't ready yet, and took the time to polish everything. That doesn't happen often, and I'm more then happy to throw my money at the folks at Mythic for the extra quality you all have put into the game.
If you answered the questions "do you work in the industry" yes, then I think you where excluded from the beta. Looks like fun, I'll pick it up, give it a spin see what a few of the polycounters have been slaving over.

Yes. You can customize nearly everything that shows up. It's quite nice

So it's as usual with these things. People complain on the forums, needing to vent off their frustrations. Dicks who already have access to the US beta go on those forums and tell the unhappy EU people that they are whiners and have no right to complain because they haven't paid anything, and then go back to playing.

That's ok....it's taken me nearly 30 minutes to download readme.txt with their patcher. So even those of us who p reordered will probably not be getting in today.

also, i've always pronounced it ahrk-mage not arch-mage.
"Arch-mage.... or Ahrk-Mage, which way are you supposed to say it.... ahhhhh, whatever"
funny thing is that's the name of the first Quake mod I worked on so I've been saying that line for a long time.
But then again, I'll wait until an actual, real-life arch mage tells me how it's pronounced :P

I really don't understand why industry folks would be excluded. Hell being game artists I'd say we would be much more in tune with issues or technical problems. I know from now on I won't be putting that I work in the gaming industry. :shifty:

It amazes me the day I go looking to pre-order, I discover the sold out CE and then stumble across this. And I got one ordered less than a week before launch!

I've heard a few people lucking out and finding a few of the pre-sale packs just laying around in the last couple of days and have picked them up without pre-ordering a Collector's Edition. Then when I go to investigate these places, they have no idea what I'm talking about or have never heard of the pre-sale pack.
It has become this massive mission to find a Collector's Edition of this game with a pre-sale pack almost to the point where I've almost been willing to part with some serious cash to pick one up from eBay.

Been playing the open beta now for a while, and I'm not really getting into it the way I'd like to. Keep having this nagging feeling there's more important things that I should spend my time on and it's already turning into a case of me playing it more for the sake of leveling than pure enjoyment of the game.
This was expected since I'm not an MMORPG person, but I can imagine people who are into it having a blast.
