SOOOO GOOD. Just Saw it. What a fun and well crafted series. My favorite cartoon in a long time.
Makes me want to know more about future and previous incarnations of the Avatar.
Anyone else catch it?
Yea I love that show. I wrote a game design that was very similar before it came out which made it extra neat for me. I missed many of the episodes though. I should catch up on it some time.
I was a bit disappointed. They kind of seemed like they were in a rush to end things. And not as much got resolved as I would have liked. Aang's journey to the "island" felt a little too tacked on and convenient. And the resolution of his big battle also seemed a little too deux ex machina.
At the same time, it is good to see that they aren't going to attempt to drag the story out any more. Resolving it in this fashion feels a bit abrupt, but it also makes for a tighter narrative overall. And there was still a lot to like about the finale. Azula's growing dementia was fantastic, as was the big battle sequence between here and Zuko. The same was true for the choreography between Aang and firelord Ozai.
At the end of the day, this series was in its entirety very entertaining and satisfying. If you haven't seen it, pick up the box sets and get to watching. They are well worth the price.
Yeah, for a kids show, I think it was very deep. I feel as though some things were sort of deux ex machina, and abrupt too. BUT my disbelief was suspended for the entire series, and I could buy into the world the writers and artists had created.
My favorite part has to be when Zuko finally gets the chance to apologize to Uncle Iro. ooh ooh and when Toff metal bends into an Iron man and kicks ass. The final battles for Zuko and Aang were very satisfying.
King Boomie is a badass too.
i just finished watching, finally there it was
i really enjoyed this show, great characters, great fun and good morale too.
the chick riding the all-smelling beast was cool too :P.
Well considering it's a kids show it was pretty deep. The animation was great and pretty much all the characters were interesting. I loved the turtle lion as well very cool.
Wow, just wow. I watched all three seasons in a week... the first season was not very good but holy crap, did it pick up after that. I usually don't like anime, either. This show reminded me lots of Suikoden, the first 3 of which are some of my favorite RPG's of all time. Really good stuff.

I dug the island. The TurtleLion was actually introduced in the Library episode. Aang had found a scroll with a drawing of it.
