That one is huge, jaggy, and long. Not in any way an improvement or worthy addition to the excellent emoticons already in use.
Sorry to be so honest, but I just really don't want to see that thing in any threads.
Maybe you could read a few tutorials on pixel art? There are a lot of subtleties that are hard to get right, and it's honestly a lot of fun to do right, once you know how.
Yeah it was terrible wasn't it, that will teach me for making a rushed effort, here's one that I took a bit more care on, not sure what to call it, maybe hmmm, or monocle smiley! Will look into size reduction, just so you guys can see it clearly for now tho.
Polycount has emoticons? Thought they've been gone since the change.
They are still available, though most of the shortcuts need to be re-bound to use the corresponding emoticon. Most of them have been setup to work since the forum change.
Or alternatively use the Advanced Mode and they should be located to the right of the text field
not here on firefox or safari. advanced mode yeilds no such emoticons. Maybe thats what he's talking about
I found out they were in "super secret ninja surprise mode" only. You have to go to
User Control Panel>Edit Options>
Then under Message Editor Interface use Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing and then save changes and when you go back to the forum you'll have emoticons. Some reason it's not defaulted.

I would look into antialiasing, and reducing the size. Emoticons should be pretty damn tiny, and get to the point quicker than that.
Or after 6 gin and tonics...
