Hello guys. Here my trouble: couple month ago project where i'm worked was closed. Now i need job. But i dont know rates on the artist-market. For me ineresting middle rates for concept art. (skill good enough)
If some one can help me please write the rates.

for United States afaik, not exactly rates but you could come up with those on "money you think you should earn / time you want to spend / amount of projects"

If you're self-employed, you should probably charge a bit more because you have to pay your own overhead, etc. This book is a great resource, well worth the price.

Eric brings up a great point.

If your self employed you also have to pay the employers part of of your taxes along with income tax. Employer tax isn't factored into a normal hourly salary when you work for a company.

A good rule of thumb I read about (don't remember where) was take 30-35% out for taxes if your self employed that will cover income tax and employer tax. Welcome to the world of small business, oh how Uncle Sam likes to dick you guys over, then audit your asses, then fine you for not paying your taxes quarterly, then take your house when you can't pay your fines or your taxes.

I'm sure all that is covered in the book Eric linked to, but I thought it worth mentioning in case you didn't go in for the book.
