Sorry, rant, ignore me.
The new Tim Fite album "Fair Ain't Fair" is 13ishUS dollars on Amazon.com and 13ish UK pounds on Amazon.co.uk (that's 25 dollars at the exchange rate).
But amazon do digital downloads! It's only $9 as an MP3 album (and lets face it, I'd be ripping it as soon as I got it). Except - digital downloads are limited to the US only.
Cockmonkeys.

I had to do a double take after realizing how much sense that actually made
I've thought about doing the same thing when faced with similar bullshit trying to acquire music legit'. The only downside I can think of is that the artist doesn't get the +1 recorded sale attributed to their name. Although I don't know the ins and outs of music distribution so don't know how important that is. Would artists generally prefer recorded sales over extra $$$?

Firstly a rant about exchange rates, and secondly a rant about region locking downloads.
I do often buy from Amazon.com and have the items shipped, and it galls me that it is cheaper to buy an item abroad and ship it than it is to buy it locally.
Ach, I'm still sore about the whole Rockband thing.
