Congrats! and welcome to Seattle, just in time for the good weather! Oh I mean its rainin and nasty...
I love cloudy and rainy! Don't jinx it before I get there next month, damnit!
STOOFOO - congrats! ArenaNet looks like a great studio, and they're certainly having good results with Guild Wars. I'll be up there next month as well - I look forward to running into you at a Polycount meet-n-greet.
Thanks a lot guys. I'll definitely be floating around city wise after i settle in. I really have not gone anywhere in the northwest. ill be in vancouver and portland post haste most definitely.
haha. Ian. Figure your shit out in the next week and you can move out there with me. It tseems its a lot easier to find 2brs that are respectable than 1 brs.
I'm flying out on sunday the 11th and have not got anything packed nor have i got my car setup for the move. Sweet jesus this is gonna get the best of me. I do, however, have an apartment in capitol hill(I think?) so that'll be good... Stresssss!
Thanks for the well wishing my friends. I appreciate it.
How good are your knife fighting skills? Just about every week for the past 2 months there have been random stabbings, muggings, and a bunch of car break-ins.
Two people I work with live on the hill and say its getting bad. But then they are the nervous types who sanitize just about everything.
That sounds intense, Vig. Bad crime, bad!
GL stoofoo!
Luckily I started making preps for my Seattle move last month. Apartment is already 3/4 packed, new Redmond apartment is paid for...all ready to go. Just need to tie up those damn loose ends (notifying bill collectors, change of address, yadda yadda).
Seattle's getting packed with pcounters, that's for sure.

for realz though? i live in wallingford, but up on the hill quite a bit, and i walk home/cab home. and im drinking pretty heavily. granted im a dude, and im normally with friends, but i think that the violence on capitol hill has been heavily exaggerated. same with the crime wave in the U district. yeah, ill agree that one is too many, but two a crime wave isnt.
It's not as bad as I was making it out to be. But if you're interested there is a good message board for Cap Hill residents. I searched for crime and this is what came up. http://capitolhillseattle.blogspot.com/search/label/crime
Most of the muggings are in specific areas, at specific times of night and the people being mugged have completely lost their street smarts. A lot of the muggings could be prevented if people pay attention. It's a pretty good place to live even if crime is on the raise across the city.
Get to know your neighbors, make friends have fun and don't be stupid, things will be fine.
hah.I've lived in some pretty seedy neighborhoods--capitol hill is NOT one of them. If you end up hearing about muggings on the news that just means the larger scale disaster zone crimes are not present. I'm sure there are multiple muggings every day in some more crime ridden towns--you just dont hear about them.
Anyway, I'm excited...but still unpacked. Still think the apartment has been settled.
Vassago you are substantially smarter than I when it comes to this move. a month of lead time would have been the correct track. Oh well.
