amauri what is the competitio/challenge these heads are for? that orc head seems a strange thing to copy as Ive seen much better sculpts than that around.
Hi Ged.. haha, they aren't for any comp, I was just practicing.
The fact is that in my first contacts with CG, in 2004, I saw a lot of works of this guy, Jean Sebastien Rolhion, alias "Strike" on ZBC, showing the possibilities of the recent launched Zbrush 2. It was love at first sight. And you know, love can be very stupid sometimes :P
But believe me, he was one of the main stars on that site that time. He was fast and filled his models with an incredible amount of details, something really new those days.
Nowadays I see his works aren't so good, his anatomy knowloedge is a s*#t.. but anyway, we never forget completely a past love. Although there're tons of good people doing sculptures today, I really had to make my tribute to strike. He played a big role on my CG history.
There goes a new concept I did today. It's not complex and overdetailed, but I tried to focus on expressivity. My intention is to model this guy entirely on Zbrush, to practice hard surface modeling there.
Again another person thats never seen anyone work entierley in zbrush O_o...
I think that you could probably push your value work alot more, you seem to work mostly in high key lighting schemes, Messing around with different keys and different value ranges would probably do you good.
There goes some pencil sketches I did today. I'd really like to improve my drawings, on anatomy, stylization, gesture and details. Tips and crits are very appreciated.

A quick sketch, to refresh ideas. No Paintstop this time, just SingleLayer and Paintbrush brushes.
